Luck or have primark ‘upped’ their game?

I buy from primark and always find that they don’t last long or don’t hang right-but they are cheap, so it’s fine.

Went shopping today, bought the most softest, comfiest plain top and bottoms pj lounge wear set to slob about in, come home, tried it on and OMG it’s cut beautifully, and instantly made me look like one of those glamorous insta people who always look great- almost cried I can’t wear it in public because I actually look rather decent in it.

Also bought two jumpers, again- look fab!! Just way beyond what I normally look like in primark jumpers!!

Was I just lucky to get gems or have they ‘got someone new in?’

(Did buy 2 pairs of jeans that are too small so going back though)

Also bought a dress, again (I know I’m blowing my trumpet but just can’t believe it) looked amazing in that too!!

Feel like I’ve won the primark lotto today! Grin

I have found some real gems in primark and I'm pretty fussy.

A couple of years ago they had the most beautiful cream maxi dress, a little lace, some discreet beads and it was about £13 I remember thinking it would be a fantastic dress for a bride having a country style wedding, small budget or not it was stunning

dudsville · 22/10/2020 21:25

Those are great moments! I think a lot of shops have something they excel at once in a while, how great you found those things!

orangenasturtium · 22/10/2020 21:44

Ooh! Can you post pictures of your haul? Not wearing them, just the clothes.

Primark used to have really good bargains but it's been years since I saw anything worth buying in there.

foxtiger · 22/10/2020 21:46

I haven't seen anything I loved in there recently, but I look often because they come up with some great stuff now and again. Also, sometimes something doesn't look that good at first glance but it just needs the buttons changing, or a belt removing, or to go up or down a size.

All my favourite PJ's are from Primark. The quality has been great - better than lots of more expensive shops. I've had loads of good things from there, including children's clothes, men's t shirts and lovely bedding that didn't go all bobbly like the much more expensive stuff from Next. Like everywhere, you have to be a bit selective but I think Primark is great.

ParkheadParadise · 22/10/2020 22:03

I love Primark's jammies and their Jeans.
Recently, I bought a pair of trainers for £10 in Primark they are so comfy and look great.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 22/10/2020 22:07

I had some fairly standard vest tops from there that lasted for YEARS. And I have small boobs and their bras fit me so well.

NeedWineNow · 22/10/2020 22:14

I've bought some real gems from Primark over the years - I still love a dark grey velvet shrug that I bought ages ago for the princely sum of £,2 in their sale.

A friend who works for M&S says that she buys Primark premium quality towels rather than M&S as she says they are superior quality.

Whatnext2018 · 22/10/2020 22:16

It’s always hit and miss in Primark, some lovely pjs, bedding etc a lot of the time, plus the odd bits of really nice clothing. All this mixed in with some crappy, tacky stuff!
You have to hunt it out, but when you do 👌
Please can you post pics of the pjs!

Auldspinster · 22/10/2020 22:24

Their make up and skincare is great.

goose1964 · 22/10/2020 22:29

I bought a blue and white lounges earlier this year looks expensive.

CommanderBurnham · 22/10/2020 22:41

I bought a gorgeously cut blouse recently. Wouldn't have looked out of place in Reiss or Ralph Lauren. It looks so expensive.

PapsofJura · 22/10/2020 22:45

A couple of years ago I got the kids proper fleecy button down pj’s and they lasted so well. Always look to see if they have ever had more in only to be sadly disappointed.

Jdhshekr · 23/10/2020 06:59

We need to see pics so we know what to look out for!

SoPanny · 23/10/2020 07:04

Pics or it didn’t happen OP.

Your country needs you.

crochetmonkey74 · 23/10/2020 10:11

have had the occasional treasure from there definitely- my most comfy pair of jeans that I have had for 4 years now

Annasgirl · 23/10/2020 10:47

The best, and I mean the best, place for pjs ever is Primark - I have tried other more expensive places and always come back here. Whether you like leggings type loungewear or floaty silky type, it is always fabulous.

I am in lockdown so Primark (Pennys to us in Ireland) is closed Sad

Congrats and enjoy.

KatherineJaneway · 23/10/2020 10:48

Another one asking for a pic or link please

ImEatingVeryHealthilyOhYes · 23/10/2020 12:10

The proof is in the washing, that’s when it can all go wrong Sad

I spent bloody loads on a Reiss jumper that bobbled like mad after one wash, plus I’ve had Zara tops that lost all shape after one wash (and this is my 15 minute 30 degree cycle).

I’m beginning to think quality is utterly random

Mamette · 23/10/2020 12:56

Just wash it on a low temp OP and for God’s sake don’t put it in the dryer!

KatherineJaneway · 23/10/2020 22:27

Erm?

Ginkypig · 23/10/2020 22:42

Another one asking very politely for pictures please.

I’ve not had anything in the last at least couple of years I’ve really liked precisely for the reasons a couple of others have said after the first wash most of it shrinks or at least isn’t quite as nice afterwards Sad

Redcups64 · 24/10/2020 12:10

I will try and add a pic, £12 and just brilliant!!

Luck or have primark ‘upped’ their game?

Also washed them on a quick 20 degree wash and are still perfectly soft and in shape
