Please help me find a wedding dress

I'm planning to get married next Spring, depending on Covid rules and bookings etc. It's the second time for both of us so we're just going for a quiet registry office ceremony, close family & friends, then dinner and drinks after.
My question is what do I wear? I won't be going for the big, traditional wedding dress. I'm thinking just a very nice dress, midi length in a light colour? I'm short and size 12, carrying a bit of baby weight still, so not wanting anything too clingy. I'm very top heavy at the moment as well, so don't want anything high neck. I don't want to spend much, as I'll only wear it for the ceremony and few hours after. Any ideas what style I should go for and where to get it from?

Don't say "just" about your wedding dress!

Where do you usually shop?

Can you give a more specific budget?

As you're not choosing a meringue, are you sure you wouldn't like a beautiful dress you can wear again. Some people would, some wouldn't ...

Random suggestion. Might need a well-placed brooch!

BigusBumus · 14/10/2020 10:54

Although this is higher on the neckline, the length is less bridal and the overlay is gorgeous. I like the shoes as well!

Monsoon

Not midi, but this is lovely

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 14/10/2020 11:58

Bargain - if your style.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 14/10/2020 12:05

Probably more glamorous than you wanted. But such a dress!

BigusBumus · 14/10/2020 12:39

That Paco Robane one is amazing! I love that.

My link didn't work, sorry. Few more suggestions:
Jenny Packham
Ted Baker
Phase Eight
Ted Baker playsuit

Angry Debenhams link still won't work.

Bit more wedding-y.

Nicely low key.

nattonattt · 14/10/2020 14:48

This would be cute shortened to a midi.

I love this but may be a bit to bridal, www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_008020601409_-1 actually it's worth looking at Debenhams as they have a rather large sale

mrpoopybutthole · 14/10/2020 14:57

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd quite like something in cream, maybe woth some lace. I like the Debenham one that NW2SW suggested but the Phase Eight is definitely more like what I'm looking for. I might take a look at Debenham sale. My budget is quite tight, around £100 max.

Have you looked at Asos? I was just about to post a link but think there are several which might fit your brief, within budget. X

mrpoopybutthole · 14/10/2020 16:04

The skater dress from Very is lovely! I'll take a look at ASOS too.

How about these:

barberousbarbara · 14/10/2020 17:49

I'm getting married in this ASOS dress in April. I'm top heavy but had a mastectomy earlier this year so I need something to hide the loss of tissue on my chest. This is actually very flattering

purplecorkheart · 14/10/2020 18:01

Would you consider second hand. Facebook have phase eight groups where people buy and sell and ebay. I picked up a couple phase eight dresses that would have 300+ new for much much less. One I suspect cause the seller more to dry clean it than what she sold it at.

HollowTalk · 14/10/2020 20:58

I like this one - shame you don't want a high neck.

ForthPlace · 14/10/2020 20:58

Oops, brackets didn't work...look at that link...😊

Tavannach · 15/10/2020 04:00

Worth keeping an eye on ebay - there's this atm but it's a 10 and no returns, so not much use unless you're in Caerphilly.

Tavannach · 15/10/2020 04:03

Not Caerphilly - Buckingham!
