Looking for a ring like this...

Following a post I posted a few days ago about a signet ring, I’ve now decided to find a different kind of ring (as signet rings seem to be disliked/carry a rather negative association!). So I’d love some help in finding an alternative ring that has the features I’m looking for. It’s in memory of a late, special relation.

It needs to be solid silver. I’d like it to have a stone - either yellow citrine or blue topaz. Any hint of a theme of the sea or sun would be good, but not absolutely necessary. It will be to wear on my middle finger. I’m happy for it to be quite solid/chunky.

Thanks so much! x

Not silver but stainless steel, try Qudo. You can get different tops which screw on. I saw a lovely yellow top, set in a silver colour when I was out last week. They are fashion jewellery, not classic, forever pieces though.

There are lots of brilliant makers on Etsy who would fulfil this brief. What about something made with seaglass? CarysRhian jewellery has lovely things. This is her website but look at Etsy for more items from her. www.carysmatthews.com/carys-rhian-jewellery/

Thanks so much @MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously - I’m going to go for solid silver for this piece, but they are lovely!

Thanks, too, @roodog. I would like citrine or blue topaz on this occasion, but I do have some seaglass jewellery. I will definitely have a look at Etsy, thank you!

What sort of budget do you have in mind?

Check out Posh Totty Designs (ignore the naff name!) They have some nice things, including a good selection of signet rings (I have one myself from there and I love it, so ner ner ner ner ner)

I also like the textured 'confetti' ring - you can chose as many coloured stones to go in it as you want.

I really like Asterlingidea.

Roodog · 13/10/2020 12:21

@PrimeraVez love the confetti ring

TTCAbroad · 13/10/2020 12:22

Wolf and Badger might have something. They have a great selection of rings, I've seen rings fitting your description in the past.

CloudyVanilla · 13/10/2020 12:31

Look at Alex Monroe :) they have signet rings and they also are heavily inspired by nature; they definitely have a beach/sea range too!

Ah, some really fantastic suggestions here, thank you so much. I’ve had a good browse on Etsy and have come across these. What do you think, helpful folks? Any favourites? If it’s at all relevant, i’ll have a large teardrop-shaped ring on my next (ring) finger.

I have a similar ring to the swirly citrine you've selected, by mine is amber. Its gorgeous. I love the chunkier style too, but never go with them for myself as my fingers are too stubby and I don't think they suit me. All beautiful choices.

TwiggyStardust · 13/10/2020 15:16

Thanks @Roodog. 😊

I’ve been lusting after this stuff for ages. Those silver stud rings at the bottom... Beautiful!

Are the stones of significance? I'm after moonstone solid silver ring.

@IceniWarrior How about this

They have many beautiful and unusual rings.

Justin Duance (google) will make whatever you want to achieve the sentiment and the memories. DS wanted a "signet" ring for his 21st, so it was made with metals from unworn inherited pieces that we donated, and the charge was just for casting and making the ring. Lots of memories are now cast for wearing. It's beautiful, and we are indebted to the MNer who sent us to Justin Duance.

TwiggyStardust · 13/10/2020 20:17

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I’m going to go with one of the three that I posted pics of a little earlier - now to decide which one! If anyone has any opinions about them to help me decide, it’d be really helpful! 😀 x

The middle one , the swirl is like a wave
It’s very pretty

poppinpink · 13/10/2020 20:29

I like the first and second one. I've actually been looking for a blue topaz ring too.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 13/10/2020 20:34

The middle one you posted is my favourite. I used to have something very similar with a sapphire, but it slipped off and never turned up :(

DramaAlpaca · 13/10/2020 20:37

The middle one is really nice.
