Lip fillers for very thin lips?

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 11/10/2020 11:09

Has anybody with thin to the point of non existent lips had fillers in them? I’m very tempted as I figure during this time of wearing masks I can get away with it if they look daft 😂. However most of the photos online seem to show people who already had full lips to begin with imo.

Its the one thing I think no matter what always looks fake, it is also incredibly aging.
When I see young women with duck lips I want to tell then that it ages them 20 years
I would look at youtube for tutorials on how to get the desired result via makeup before going down the filler route
I am not against fillers/botox etc at all but anyone I have seen in real life with lip fillers, no matter how much they pay, look horrendous

peach1234 · 11/10/2020 15:56

Yep I get them and love them! Just get a small amount and really research before you choose where to go. If you have them done well no one will know, people will ALWAYS say they look terrible and fake on everyone but that's only the ones that are actually overly noticeable because they've had too much or been done badly. My husband begged me not to have them and said the same about them always looking horrendous and even he ate his words and admits they look good

peach1234 · 11/10/2020 16:18

Also if you've got very thin lips you would need a hell of a lot of filler to get the massive duck/fake look anyway Smile

Muddybuddy · 11/10/2020 16:22

Pp above says if you have them done well then no one will know. Surely people you know will be able to tell though, if not, there wouldn’t be no point in having it done if the results were so subtle that no one would notice! That might not bother you of course, but it’s not like Botox for example where someone might just think you look a little fresher and not know why. If you suddenly have bigger lips then everyone you know will know you have had it done.

peach1234 · 11/10/2020 16:31

People close to you obviously will notice but only that they're a bit bigger not omg they look so massive and fake, what I meant was people weren't constantly asking me about them

peach1234 · 11/10/2020 16:34

Also the OP never ever asked about them being noticeable that was only my comment rolls eyes

jaffacakesareevil · 11/10/2020 16:34

Victoria Beckham has lip fillers with naturally thin lips, take a look at pics of her for comparison.

peach1234 · 11/10/2020 16:38

Go on the Farleigh medical Instagram if you have it, they do lots of really thin lips that still look really natural after IMO

No need to roll your eyes peach. You said people won’t know if they’re done well, I’m just saying people you know, of course notice.

peach1234 · 11/10/2020 16:57

Obviously.

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 11/10/2020 17:08

I’m aware people who know me will realise - but I’d tell them anyway. I’m just looking for normal lips as I really have mine at all.
Peach - the before upper lip pic you posted is probably what I’d have after filler 😂. Thanks for the tip though I will check that page out.

I had mine done recently and love them. Most people haven't noticed, some have said I look well, a couple have stared at me intently and asked why I look different Grin
Agree with pp bad fillers are obvious so people think they can always tell Hmm kate Middleton and holly Willoughby are examples of subtle work. Have 0.5ml and see what you think. You can always have it dissolved if you dont like it.

Anotheruser02 · 11/10/2020 17:36

another option is a semi permanent lip blush, like micro blading for the mouth. A good SP make up artist can create a lip line and give a very subtle blush effect appearing like lips are fuller.

RonaldMcDonald · 11/10/2020 18:31

Get them done. If you want to get them done.
You can get a fabulous result and people notice much less that you think.
My friend has a non existent top lip now and last year started to v slowly rebuild it
So she built it up .25 per visit. She had terrible fear of much of the nonsense spoken here. Her lips make her happy now.
Go to a plastic surgeon, get a gentle approach

RonaldMcDonald · 11/10/2020 18:36

Blake Lively is a good example ( also rhinoplasty )

The problem is that it can be difficult to augment thin lips in a natural manner. You’re right when you say many before/after photos show clients with naturally full lips, as thin lips don’t always look as amazing after.

PoopySalata · 11/10/2020 19:18

I get 0.5ml across both lips. It doesn't make me look like I've got filler, honestly I just look I've got normal thin lips instead of none at all.

Whatiswrongwithmykid · 11/10/2020 23:01

Poopy that’s exactly what I’m aiming for!

LizzieSiddal · 11/10/2020 23:12

peach the pic you’ve posted of treatment is very noticeable. The bit between the lip and nose look ridiculous!

peach1234 · 12/10/2020 06:19

Before and after pics are difficult to tell from as there's always swelling immediately after that will go down after a few days. Was just an example of someone with a very thin top lip.
When you're very self conscious of your thin lips it's horrible so I don't see a problem with improving your confidence with a bit of filler and don't see that you should be judged for it. Ignore the haters if that's what you want to do go for it Smile

Chillychangchoo · 16/09/2021 19:48

OP did you get them?

I want lip fillers so I can have “normal lips” not kardashian ones. Mine are very thin and my top lip disappears when I smile. Worried about any potential side effects though.

LadyEloise1 · 16/09/2021 19:55

I can't see a difference in Blake Lively's lips. Blush
They look the same to me.
Her nose looks different though.

ThatSunnyCorner · 16/09/2021 19:58

@peach1234

Go on the Farleigh medical Instagram if you have it, they do lots of really thin lips that still look really natural after IMO
They don't look at all natural Confused
absorbyl · 17/09/2021 00:49

I had lip filler for the first time around three weeks ago, OP. I had 0.5ml. I've told no one in real life, and nobody has noticed not even my husband, DC or best friend.

My lips were quite thin and the difference is subtle but I'm very pleased with the result.
Pros: slightly more volume, more defined cupid's bow, tiny 'feather' lines on upper lip have gone, shape has been kept (I worried they would be stretched out).
Cons: the procedure itself, especially the first day where it's difficult to eat, including the 3 or 4 days for the swelling to subside. Thank goodness for face coverings.

absorbyl · 17/09/2021 00:53

Old thread!

Did you get them done @Whatiswrongwithmykid
