Trainer socks that don't budge?

I know this has been done before but the main ones recommended seem to be Pringles and I can't find any that dont have something sort of pad in them which I don't want.
Any recommendations please? I'm at the point where I don't care how much they cost.

The Lacy ones in primark!! Pointed out to me by an elderly lady in the queue once. Never bought anything else since!! They don't last that long they rub holes in the toe but they are very cheap so meh. They actually do not move I love them. I needed them to wear with slip on vans

What size are your feet? Buying men's ones has completely solved problem for me. Longer in the toe/front area and higher in heel. Tesco ones are good.

Belfastian · 09/10/2020 19:53

Another Primark fan here. I like the lace net type ones mentioned above for a shoe but their thicker ones for runners. Also bought a 3 pack in Home Bargains of all places, black with pink writing - mildly higher marginaly closer to an ankle sock but fab.

theneverendinglaundry · 09/10/2020 19:56

Another vote for the Primark ones!, I think they are sport ones.

Mollscroll · 09/10/2020 19:56

Sweaty Betty ones. £15 for three pairs so quite ££££ but totally worth it after wasting fortunes on M&S ones which roll down under your heel at the slightest exertion.

quieterinreallife · 09/10/2020 19:58

I swear by Vans ones, I won't wear any others now

GreyHare · 09/10/2020 20:08

I brought some golf sock that have a pompom on so the back can't slip down.

DelphineWalsh · 09/10/2020 20:22

Primark. The plain white or black ones are a thin liner or the sports style with the thicker sole and ankle collar bit. They all stay on for me and they've lasted for many years.

Bellsandwhistle · 09/10/2020 20:22

Primary every time. White trainers socks. They changed since I last bought 6 months ago amd are better now.

Hyperfish101 · 09/10/2020 20:24

Muji. They have a bit of rubber on the back heel but that stops them slipping, perfect.

DelphiniumBlue · 09/10/2020 20:25

Primark. I think £2 or £3 for a pack of ?7 - thin cotton, various colours. I bought them in an emergency and they are my favourite socks. I am size 6, wide feet and they are perfect on me. They are better than all the fancy ones I've tried.

TooMinty · 09/10/2020 20:44

I have H&M ones that have rubber grips at the back. But the main thing is getting the size right I think.

GenericFemalePal · 09/10/2020 20:50

H&M ones with rubber / elasticised grips here, too. Super comfy and stay put.

KnightsofColumbusThatHurt · 09/10/2020 22:05

Primark. The mesh ones. They are the only trainer socks I have ever been able to get on with.

veryveryquietly · 09/10/2020 22:29

These from Amazon are excellent and fun colours. A little thicker overall than usual trainer liners/trainer socks, but not padded. Great in actual trainers, probably slightly too thick if the shoes in question are a close fit though.

onlyconnect · 10/10/2020 08:51

Thank you everyone. I will order a couple of these to try. Unfortunately I'm unlikely to be able to get to a Primark for a while but will try those too when I can.

Out of interest what is the issue with the rubber grips? I’ve been wearing the Pringle ones for years now as they are so comfortable

I agree. I have size 7 feet and buy Men's ones from Primark.
onlyconnect · 10/10/2020 10:03

I'm a 7 so will try that.

I have Calvin Klein trainer socks and they’re fine.

sandragreen · 10/10/2020 11:22

So glad I found this thread - I have dreadful problems with this in winter. Socks always come away at the heel and end up half way under my foot Angry

For me it's fashion trainers rather than sport but it's several pairs so not the trainers.
