What the hell to wear for 10 years younger

My mate is getting the ol' treatment from the 10 Years Younger Team.

We're getting filmed next week at her house, drinking wine and chatting.

What will I wear!!!

First of all I decided tartan skirt with jumper and boots, but that looks too much like I'm of to the January Sales. Now thinking black skinny jeans, black high ankle boots and a black jumper.

Although is black ok for TV.

Any thoughts?

Second option with some shapewear and top tucked in. Skirt is gorgeous. I like the shoes linked by a PP.

You'll need two tops just in case you're accidentally wearing the same colour as someone else...

@NW2SW love the description of the shoes "pleasant" well thank goodness, who'd want some unpleasant shoes!

I love the shoes, not really me though, I'm more of an irregular choice sort of gal. Although it's literally only gonna be a few seconds on screen eh?

Wanted to wear my long pink curly wig, which I ADORE! Teenage daughter threatened a law suit if i wore it on TV!

However I've bleached my roots which have gone a nice shade of yellow! I'll probably get cut out of it anyway! Hahaha

@LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett what about the blue jumper in the first pic? Would that go with the skirt?

Well to be honest I sometimes do wear it with the skirt, but as you can see my taste is pretty crap. That's what happens if you were a teenager of the 80s! No idea of taste! Ha ha ha

Second option is lovely but I think your top is a bit see through so maybe a different top. Love that skirt!

Do you have a black top, or cream/white? Two different blues might look a bit weird

Is there yellow in the second skirt? I usually pick a colour in the skirt and match the top with that but not the “most” colour (sorry can’t think of a better way to describe that!) so not pink or blue but one of the more subtle colours like the yellow or cream or black?

Oh no!! FFS!! It's now not drinks at home but coffee in a cafe!!

Think I can still wear skirt (although I'll be freezing!) and bring a couple of different jumpers. I'm loving wearing a black one, but I think a PP said they are are discouraged for TV,

Tried to get rid of bright yellow neon roots, but have ended up with purple hands and tips of my hair! FFS!

I'll need a makeover after this!!

I love the first outfit. I know that isn't the consensus but I love the blue and the skirt.

In all honesty I don't think anyone will notice you.

You might look as if you have tried too hard so IMO I'd dress down and wear some smart jeans, nice top and flat boots.

Oh no! Is that purple shampoo or toner that’s stain your hands? If your roots are still bleached yellow and the rest of your hair is platinum blonde you need bleach white toner, you can buy it in boots. X

I just wanted to say, whatever you wear make sure you feel really comfortable and able to relax, breathe properly and move freely.
You’re going to be a bit nervous anyway, but being in restrictive or uncomfortable clothes will show this even more.
The outfit looks fab and will look great on screen, but again, people will notice your ‘energy’ far more - so relax, smile and enjoy this fab opportunity!!!

I remember back in the day when I was an extra filming Hetty Wainthrop I was told off and moved to the back for wearing a bright yellow Adidas t-shirt. Stood out too much (which was obviously intentional, but backfired)

Those outfits are very busy for tv. I'd be inclined not to go for a pattern. You never see a news reader or a presenter with that many colours or prints in an outfit. If you shrink it down to tv size, add all the other people and the sofa that's an awful lot to look at on the screen at the same time. Keep it simple. Plain block colours and not to many of them would be my suggestion. I should add, I have no tv experience and could be taking out of my arse

In my very limited experience of tv, patterns, especially stripes, can strobe on camera. So I'd take an unpatterned option in case that's needed.

IMO and it's only IMO- I never ever noticed the 'friend' in the series. Where do the friends come in?

Ok so the filing is actually today! I'm being filmed in about 8 minutes!

So because we're now going for a coffee, I decided to completely change my outfit, the busy one was too cold!

Anyway black skirt, red jumper, yellow roots, purple hands. I tried the boots toner so no purple tips now thanks!!

Let's hope for the love of the wee man that no one notices this "friend"!

I think it's a reboot and the friends are being interviewed at the beginning. Who knows? No makeup person! Wtf!

Anyway gonna be wondering round a town near you soon, getting filmed!! Hahaha
