@HP2020

Thanks for all the comments it's reassuring to know. I guess I'm paranoid and I don't feel my figure is that great as I'm 5"2 and 10 stone 10 !!! ConfusedShock
I’m the same. 5.1 and petite (but not skinny, I swing between 9.5-10.5 plus) and what looks cool and fashionable on a tall young thin person makes me look like an overgrown toddler

Too much frills high neck patter too much material does me zero favours.

I used to be able to get away with form fitted Lycra but now I’m too doughy I have to get simple structured outfits

QuentinQuarantino · 06/10/2020 15:08

No to the pink one HP. It's too frilly and flouncy. The pelmet bit at the bottom and the placement of the waist are doing your figure no favours.

Also, it just looks a bit cheap and......flammable.

I think you look infinitely better in a simpler silhouette with a v neck. Like the blue spot dress. No ruffles or frills!

peachypetite · 06/10/2020 15:09

Op I would avoid polyester dresses and those with that waist placement.

Icanseewhyichangednyusername · 06/10/2020 15:44

@ittooshallpass

How about something like this? The blue colour would be good on you. The v-neck, big front tie, swingy skirt and short length would look really good on you.
I’m a similar shape and size to op and think that dress would do nothing for us.... too much material, no matter what size we got. It would just swamp me anyway. Gorgeous dress and see where you’re going in a sleeker version of what OP has in her pictures x
PurplePansy05 · 06/10/2020 15:52

OP, I think you need shorter dresses and try some autumnal tones that will match your hair and skin tone. Maybe mixed with black/dark brown. No navy tights with that, black tights and black chelsea boots (not heavy boots with your height, I'm not much taller than you and heavy boots are a no no). Great legs, you should show them off and wear black mini skirts, boots and nice jumpers now it's getting cooler.

Just bought this which I love and more me but u can see my belly a bit so an incentive for me to lose that

You buy a lot of dresses op Wink

Hoctober · 06/10/2020 16:22

I think if you sized up that last one would look really nice.
The higher waistline suits you more than the ones that sit lower on you widest part iyswim.

HP2020 · 06/10/2020 16:26

Do I look really fat in that last one?

OP posts:
Hoctober · 06/10/2020 16:29

Nope you have slim shoulders, arms and legs, you just look like you're carrying some extra weight on your belly.

HP2020 · 06/10/2020 16:32

Ok cool well I hope that's allowed as I had a baby 2 months ago although I did have a bit of a belly before. Always the hardest to lose

OP posts:
Hoctober · 06/10/2020 16:34

Yup. Tell me about it Grin

DesignerDesigner · 06/10/2020 16:38

Sorry but the last one does not do you any favours.

I'd avoid fitted waists like that until you have lost the baby tum.

Bloomburger · 06/10/2020 16:40

Your boobs are too big to wear a neckline like the brown dress and it's too near your hair colour. Makes you look like a square with little legs.

Blue dress is v pretty and flattering.

White dress isn't great 😬

Blondiney · 06/10/2020 16:42

The new one is my fave, love the colour on you!

HP2020 · 06/10/2020 16:43

People are commenting about a brown dress but I didn't post a brown one?

First was pink flowery
Then blue
Then black flowery
Then white
Then pink
Then red

So I'm getting a bit confused

OP posts:
Hoctober · 06/10/2020 16:44

Brown one = first one.

It does look brown on my screen anyway

AgathaX · 06/10/2020 16:50

I like the blue one best, followed by the black flowery one. The first one (brown, flowery) does you no favours at all, it's too fussy. The white one looked a strange fit and fabric. The pink one with sheer sleeves looked cheap and again, too fussy. The final one, red, is a good colour on you but could do with sizing up. I think then it would skim rather than cling to your middle.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/10/2020 17:20

Sorry, but the pink one isn't nice. And I think the red mini dress is too small for you.

I think you'd do better spending your money on:
a really good bra
one plain 'better' dress, rather than several cheap dresses

Something like this from Bravissimo would suit you/your boobs, and would skim over your tummy.

Or this sort of thing from Boden - they do lots of this kind of easy jersey dress.

Neither are designed to set the world on fire, but they will both fit/look better than cheap frilly polyester things.

DesignerDesigner · 06/10/2020 17:24

You would look better in a wrap dress maybe with boots and a longer length- mid calf length- or a dress like a skater style where the waist is on your waist and then the skirt is full.

The ones you are showing us are too tight, too short and the seam near the bust just, almost empire line, emphasises your post preg tummy.

Until the tummy goes, you might go up a dress size if you can afford to. Tight doesn't look good.

TheMostHappy · 06/10/2020 17:25

Very sweet little dress I like it very much

DesignerDesigner · 06/10/2020 17:27

Have a look at the Hayden and Layla jersey dresses on Boden ( there are always voucher codes for 20% off or Ebay have loads.)

HP2020 · 06/10/2020 17:31

@TheMostHappy which one?

OP posts:
RattleOfBars · 06/10/2020 17:33

I don’t think the red dress flatters you at all. Perfectly normal to carry some baby weight on your tummy 2 months PPT but it looks like you’re trying to emphasise a bump rather than conceal it. Might work better with magic knickers or a belly bandit?

I think the low necked wrap dresses suit you best, heavy jersey material, skim over any baby weight rather than draw attention to it.

HP2020 · 06/10/2020 18:14

The red one I won't be wearing until I lose weight

I had forgotten about my famous black one which I think the style is perfect I've uploaded a photo now. U can't see the bottom awfully well but it's just above my knee. It's from amazon and they do do it in other colours which I keep meaning to get more.
