The black one looks flattering, I like it.

Redact · 04/10/2020 11:20

You really suit the blue one, the colour of the dress and the shape of it look really good on you. I love it styled with the sneakers too

MrsGrindah · 04/10/2020 11:20

Blue one is great. Don’t like the white one - sorry. Also you mentioned wearing two necklaces with the first dress. I really wouldn’t. They won’t add anything other than extra clutter around the neckline.

GoGadgetGo · 04/10/2020 11:32

The blue and black suit you. The first dress though looks frumpy and that white one didn't suit you.
Keep to the style of the blue and black, that's the style for you.

QuentinQuarantino · 04/10/2020 11:34

Blue one is great. Perfect for daytime with the trainers.

White one is awful.

Black one is right idea shape wise but dreary in execution. There are loads of tea dresses out there so you could definitely find nicer.

strawberrysandpecans · 04/10/2020 11:35

in order of preference:
blue one - really nice
black one - nice
orangey (first one) - okay but a bit fussy
white one - does you no favours, not sure the colour and/or fabric suit you

worriedwellworrier · 04/10/2020 11:38

I love the white one!!

PrimeraVez · 04/10/2020 11:46

Blue one with the trainers looks really cool.
Black print one is ok.
White one is not very nice (in my very personal opinion!) The fabric looks cheap and shiny and the waist band is not very flattering. Hope I haven't offended you, am just trying to be honest!
The very first one is quite nice - not my personal taste as a bit fussy but the colours are nice on you. I would wear it with thick black tights and black ankle boots.

Miseryisabutterfly · 04/10/2020 11:50

I think the colour and length really suit you op but I’m not sure about the frills and the neckline.

Othering · 04/10/2020 11:50

@LeGrandBleu

I am French, does this give my review extra value? Honestly, it is nice and you look lovely.
No.
Miseryisabutterfly · 04/10/2020 11:52

Blue and black dresses are great on you

nzeire · 04/10/2020 11:56

You look lovely! Great figure.
Blue my fave, white my least fave!

HP2020 · 04/10/2020 12:17

Thanks for all the feedback. What footwear can I wear with these dresses apart from sneakers which look good but are a bit casual and I'm not sure about wearing boots with them. Also I'm not great in heels these days 😂 any other suggestions?

Also I'm glad the blue one is getting such great feedback as that's my ultimate favourite dress which I wish I could wear every day but that would be a bit much lol

Do you ever go a bit shorter with dresses? I think youve got great legs. Some of these dresses look like a lot of material which makes your top half look larger.

HP2020 · 04/10/2020 13:40

No I don't tend to go shorter but that's Cos it's only in the last year I've lost weight and most of that I was preg (have had the baby now) but yeah maybe I should look into shorter ones.

I don't like the first one, and really don't like the white one. The others are fine as just non-offensive, easy day dresses.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/10/2020 13:52

If you really like the first one, I think it needs a) black tights and b) a jacket (biker/denim?) over it, or maybe a bum length cardigan.

HP2020 · 04/10/2020 13:56

I wear primark navy blue tights which I will be investing in soon just haven't yet as it's not been cold enough until recently

I have a biker jacket yes

Don’t wear navy tights with that brown dress and it really doesn’t work with the trainers. You need block heeled, black ankle boots and black tights with it.

In the kindest way, don't ever wear the white dress - it wouldn’t do much for anyone.

The black and blue dresses are fine - ordinary day dresses.

Agree with all the above.

I like the blue one. The best thing I ever did in this department was going to John Lewis to a personal shopper as have no idea what style suits me. She explained my waist is high so something that's fitted there and comes out from there flatters my figure. Also what colours suit me. I only bought one dress and it wasn't that expensive. The experience made me more informed in what suits me these days though. I hate picking and trying on stuff but just tend to order lots of similar styles online and return the majority. Stuff that looks good on models never looks good on me.

ittooshallpass · 04/10/2020 14:49

How about something like this? The blue colour would be good on you. The v-neck, big front tie, swingy skirt and short length would look really good on you.

I love that you were such lovely dresses op, and make the effort. Im a jeans, leggings and hoodie girl and wish I could feel comfortable wearing the lovely styles you like!

However, my two pennies worth, the white one is horrible - I don't think it would do much for anyone, IMO its fit for the chairty shop.

The blue one and black one are just so lovely op, totally agree with PP, they are your colouring, your style, very flattering. Really like how you matched the blue dress with the blue trainer shoes.

The second photo of the orignal dress, im so sorry op, I dislike it even more than the first. I think the necklaces help with making it more accessorised, but it just really isn't the dress for you.

I hope my response isn't taken any other way except for nicely, I think its lovely you try different styles and make effort.
