I really need some control pants to hold my tummy in as I've got a nice occasion and a posh dress! But what pants will give me good tummy control and not ping down. I've also had several c sections so hate my lumpy tummy.

I've ordered some that I should get in a few days - I'll try to remember to let you know how they are.

Bravissimo have a few different 'suck you in' styles. I've only bought the traditional spanx pants from there but this looks like it'll hold up well.

I like the look of the straps on that one

I've got some from Yummi which hold the stomach in well.

Mine finally arrived today so as promised here's what I thought.

I am actually pretty impressed. They don't shrink your size but the smooth a lot. I'm not sure how well they will stay up but I'm a lot smaller under my bra than around me 3xl sob tummy so it can't get as good a grip. I think they will be ok though. Definitely took longer than the 5 days promised - I had several days of royal mail tracker not recognising the track number then it just said they were expecting it. I am pleased with them and think they will get a lot of use. conturve.com/collections/stay-at-home-loungewear/products/high-waisted-shaping-shorts-1

I'm an 18/20 OP - I was thinking of buying these but I don't know whether to get the 3xl or 4xl as I'm worried I won't be able to breathe 🤣

Binglebong · 15/10/2020 21:01

Measure your tummy. I was bang in the middle of the 3xl and can breath no problem. I would imagine it would still smooth if slightly large but not as much.

These ones from Heist are very good, but not cheap. They also have other options (shorts and pants):

OP, as this is for a special occasion, assuming it is still hoing ahead, you might want to consider thinking outside the box.

Instead of control knickers, which can tend to roll down, have you considered a long basque? Ideal under fitted dresses, they hold you in, in the right places and if you get the size right are comfy. It’s a bit like having a long term firm cuddle! Fantasie are very good and well made.. Pour Moi are good too, although the latter’s sizing tends to be very hit and miss. It maybe an expensive option but they are machine washable and you have a garment almost for life.

Another alternative would be a full control slip;M&S do them. Both have the advantage of no roll down risk. Give it a thought. No struggle when you go for a wee either as you have your regular knix on.
