Wide fit waterproof walking shoes/boots

I'm trying to walk more in my efforts to get fit. A lot of my walking is over grass. My usual trainers are not up to the job in this wet weather and wellies are too unsupportive to walk any distance in, yet i'm struggling to find decent walking shoes. I'm a size 8 and my feet are quite wide. I've tried Regatta walking shoes/boots and similar but they just feel too snug on the toe end of my feet. I'm itching to get home and take them off, which does little for mu motivation! Anyone found any decent wider fit waterproof shoes to walk in?

Wow, thanks everyone. I wasn't expecting any responses so it's great to have so many options to look through. I'll look them all up tonight.

Merrell are great, I’ve had ladies and men’s in the past and they’re both wide enough.

Another vote for Keen. I am an 8 with wide feet and they are a perfect fit. Also they are truly waterproof, which is rare. I got mine 2 years ago in TKMaxx, but love them so much I bought sandals and trainers from the Keen website, and if my walking boots ever die(still as good as new!)I would buy theirs again even if I had to pay full price.

Gris port walking shoes/boots very comfortable. Thoroughly recommend.

I have a very broad foot and high instep along with a narrow ankle. I do a lot of walking/hiking and the on,y boots that fit me are Meindl ones. Get measured and fitted properly, Cotswold company are usually good, or an independent outdoor retailer.

Okay, sadly it looks like Keen have changed the width of their shoes. Lots of reports on their website saying the shoes are no longer as wide as they used to be, people with narrow feet rejoicing etc. I'll look at some of the others shortly.

I might have to try the men's version of a few different styles as a few people have suggested....

Thanks for this thread. I'm having the same problem.

I've just ordered a pair of Scarpa Cyrus walking shoes. I'll come back and review them when they arrive.
