Did anyone NOT get postpartum hair loss??

8 months pregnant and my hair’s the best it’s ever been. So much thicker (usually very flat and the ‘fine but lots of it’ type that doesn’t do much) feels cleaner too, needing to brush and wash it much less than before.

I’m emotionally preparing myself for half of it to fall out once this baby comes, but wonders if perhaps I need not be - anyone have great hair in pregnancy and it actually lasted? Or didn’t have loads of fall out afterwards.

Pretty please! 🤞🏻😂

Me. I didn't really lose any with either dc. I have really thick wavy hair though.

BettySweaty · 01/10/2020 17:53

I didn't. Not much change at all.

doadeer · 01/10/2020 17:53

I didn't. I have waist length thick hair. I drank loads and loads of water not sure if that contributes

MrsLeclerc · 01/10/2020 18:04

I didn’t. I have fine hair but lots of it so it appears quite thick. To be honest it stayed in a bun for about a year after as it was always in the way! DS is 2 now so I’ve been able to enjoy wearing it down again.

tsmainsqueeze · 01/10/2020 18:06

I didn't with 1st and 2nd but did with 3rd .

Rowenberryjelly · 01/10/2020 18:08

I didn't, but it didn't change much in pregnancy either.

Juliancantcope · 01/10/2020 18:10

I did with my first two and waiting to see with my third - baby is 12 weeks and so far so good. From memory, hair loss, when it did happen, happened a few months in. Ended up cutting my hair each time from a bob to a crop I moulted so drastically. This time my hair is really long and I’ll be broken hearted if I have to part with it!

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 01/10/2020 18:13

I didn't with any of my 3 pregnancies, but my curly hair did go very dry and frizzy for a few years after no.1 and around the others. It's just starting to recover now and my youngest is 6 😱

Pinkywoo · 01/10/2020 18:27

I have the same type of hair as you and didn't lose any, but a few months after having the baby it started getting much greasier than before, thank goodness for dry shampoo!

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 01/10/2020 18:32

I did with dd1 (felt like lots, but only noticeable to me apparently), but nothing with dd2 - 10 months old and hair just the same.

MaxinesTaxi · 01/10/2020 18:34

Mine didn’t until I went back to work after a year and breastfeeding inevitably fell to mornings and evenings only most days

sar302 · 01/10/2020 18:36

I didn't lose any hair. I did go back to having shitty nails though. God I miss pregnancy nails - I swear if I looked hard enough I could watch them grow!

Fatted · 01/10/2020 18:40

It didn't fall out after pregnancy. It did go a bit crap and greasy though. I also remember after having DS2, it went through a particularly crazy spell and randomly wouldn't curl well. I was having a lot of problems around then, I was anemic and on/off contraception, so my hormones had gone to shit.

minnie465 · 01/10/2020 18:46

My hair got really thick during pregnancy. I used to have to cut it to shoulder length as the ends went like rats tails. After DS was born it broke a bit around the front and I had some sticky up baby hairs. Apart from that my hair stayed thick! DS is 2.5 now. The hairdressers at the salon still can't believe it. Friends used to meet me and comment on my extensions! I've kept the length to my bra strap since.

foxtiger · 01/10/2020 21:56

I have two DC and I don't remember noticing any hair loss after the second one.

Aquamarine1029 · 01/10/2020 21:58

I didn't with either of my two children. My mum said she didn't with me (only child).

Whydoireadthis · 01/10/2020 21:59

Mines quite thick and it comes off easily anyway but I’ve noticed more and more recently (4m PP). I don’t know whether I’m overthinking it, whether it’s actually really happening, or whether it’s coincidence?? Either way, it’s annoying having to pull stray hairs off the baby all the time 🤣

herethereandeverywhere · 01/10/2020 22:04

Mine was amazing post birth! Until I stopped breastfeeding... then I went half bald.

doctorhamster · 01/10/2020 22:08

Me. I didn't notice any changes to my hair at all when I was pregnant or afterwards.

DaffodilThatch · 01/10/2020 22:11

Yes after both my pregnancies mine stayed until I significantly dropped the amount of breastfeeding, around 8/9 months after birth.

dontmesswiththeGC · 01/10/2020 22:21

I was the same as you and definitely Googled whether it was possible my luscious pregnancy locks would stay forever. I didn't find an answer on the internet but I now have a 4.5 month old and my hair is coming out in handfuls 😩.

scatteredglitter · 01/10/2020 23:57

I didn't
Have thick hair naturally and it just got thicker and stayed there !

Xmasbaby11 · 01/10/2020 23:59

I didn't notice any changes to my hair or nails during or post pregnancy. Or skin!

Susannahmoody · 02/10/2020 02:13

Mine didn't change and I didn't lose any
