Who tints their eyebrows?

Wondering whether to start tinting my own eyebrows rather than paying for someone to do them?

Firstly, is it fairly easy to do without staining your skin (the lady I use always makes them look so good) & secondly which is the best product to use?

I use the box dye from poundland, surprised how good it looks if I'm honest

Mollypolly2610 · 29/09/2020 19:54

@Inthesameboatatmo
What is the dye called from Poundland please

Popototo · 29/09/2020 19:57

@Ilovesausages

I use just for men beard dye and it’s awesome!

Same! It's been an absolute revelation. I will never pay to have them tinted again.

I don't even need to use Vaseline as a barrier. Any excess just wipes off the skin.

It's called pro colour plus, I have very dark hair naturally so I use the darkest brown shade . I colour my hair with it as well now it does the job so I tint my brows with what's left over

Yep, easy. I mix it in a plastic milk bottle top and apply it with a angled eyebrow powder brush. As it stains the skin a bit so needs to be applied accurately.

Then I neaten up the shape/ remove excess with a cotton bud

Tinks15 · 29/09/2020 20:30

Thanks everyone really helpful as always!

Can I ask is there anything else you can apply the dye with if you haven’t got an old mascara wand?

Oblomov20 · 29/09/2020 20:38

I've done it a couple of times and found it very easy.

Walkacrossthesand · 29/09/2020 20:54

Do you all have brow shaping off to a 'T'- plucking etc? When I have my (very fair) brows hennaed, she tidies them up with threading at the same time.

Balaur · 29/09/2020 20:54

I just use a cotton bud. Though you can buy mascara wands on amazon etc pretty cheaply.

CornflakeMum · 29/09/2020 20:56

I've used an interdental brush before too!

Popototo · 29/09/2020 20:58

I use one of the children's old paintbrushes!

MonkeyPuddle · 29/09/2020 21:07

I use eyelure as well. Absolutely love it. I don’t bother with Vaseline. It comes with a little spoolie brush to apply it with, cost about £6 and will last a good six months.

Supersimkin2 · 29/09/2020 21:18

I get mine threaded for a fiver and slap on some tint at home. Takes moments and works a treat.

Ilovesausages · 30/09/2020 03:10

I just use a cotton bud to apply mine.

IloveJudgeJudy · 30/09/2020 07:46

DD did mine yesterday for the first time with Just for Men. She's done her own for a couple of years. I looked like Groucho Marx while it developed for 5 minutes but I'm over the moon with the result.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 30/09/2020 08:04

@ Ilovesausages i use the beard dye too, just mix a bit at a time and it lasts ages. Apply with an old mascara wand laugh at my comedy eyebrows as it darkens / develops then was off in the shower.

Themarvellousmrsm · 30/09/2020 08:23

The eyelure lash dye comes with a mini wand

I started tinting my own during lockdown and will carry on as it's so easy

Potterpotterpotter · 30/09/2020 08:25

I use a cotton bud to apply mine

SummerOfComedy · 30/09/2020 08:57

Another vote for eyelure. I use a kohl pencil to outline my brows as close as possible, then using a cotton bud with a bit of Vaseline and apply just out of the line.
As pp have said, don't leave it on for too long though! It's surprising how quick it works. Two minutes at most for me.
My brows looked practically none existent before I started using this.
Good stuff.

Thimbleberries · 30/09/2020 09:01

oh this is what I needed to know!

Do these brands cover greys? I have generally dark brown brows, but some absolutely snowy white brows poke through (slightly bristle-like texture), and sometimes the ends of others are going grey.

Ohee · 30/09/2020 09:08

Sorry to go off subject slightly, but does anyone henna their own brows or lashes? If so what do you use?

MonkeyPuddle · 30/09/2020 09:24

@Thimbleberries I use eyelure and it covers the greys that are starting up in my brows.

CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 30/09/2020 10:29

I bought some stuff fro Sally (the beauty wholesale place) Refectocil (?) and did it yesterday, I’m old 😊😊😊. And my brows are pretty non existent but I managed to do it quite well. Be careful not to get it on the window ledge though (I was trying to find the best light for what I was doing!) cause it dyes very quickly 🤦‍♀️

Who tints their eyebrows?
CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 30/09/2020 10:29

Actually, ones a bit darker but, they’re still better than before!
