If you lost a few stone...

How did your face change?

I need to lose 4 stone but can’t work out if I will look cheekbones like I used to have or.... haggard as fuck. I’ve realised that this is subconsciously stopping me.

So how did YOUR face change with weight loss?

I’m 46

I basically need reassurance.
Would I need fillas?

I have very strong facial features, so I'm either "striking" or "odd looking" depending who you ask. When I gain weight I look really dreadful though, like a big masculine pie. The less weight the better I look. I'd still rather look a bit witchy and gaunt than like a bloke, so I'm fine with that. Most people look better facially with weight off. I'd get a little filler or five if necessary too. I've been losing weight recently and the money I'm saving on not buying wine and chocolate is being used for nice perfume and underwear but it could also be a collagen fund if necessary Grin

2.5 stone down so far. My cheekbones look great, jaw line sharper... but my neck has gone a bit wrinkly. Shock

Another stone to go, I’m slathering one moisturiser and hyaluronic acid but I’ve started putting some money aside towards sorting it out if I need to.

ilovecherries · 27/09/2020 13:24

I lost nearly 6 stone three years ago at 59. I think it’s down to a genetic lottery how your skin reacts. My face has done ok, I think. My neck isn’t great but that might be age more than anything else. I’ve no stretch marks to speak of - couple of small remnants from pregnancy but nothing new. My lower abdomen isn’t so great but nothing that can’t be contained. I could have skin 10 times worse than it is though, and still think it was worth it, I feel so much better.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 27/09/2020 15:55

It might depend on your home structure. I do think there is a point at which you have to choose between face and arse, but that's okay - you can have another Galaxy and tell yourself you're doing it for your face Wink

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 27/09/2020 15:55

Bone structure, FFS! Home structure has nothing to do with it Smile

I've lost weight only on my face - since having my DC!
But I did veer into skinny territory and it showed up the lines between my nose and mouth - the smile lines and I looked a bit tired because the skin around the eyes gets thinner so you look dark shadowed.
I put a small amount back on (I was working longer hours and commuting so as soon as I stopped that I gained back a small amount).
I look better without the commute and working from home with more exercise.
To be honest though I do think we are being presented with a very unreal facial aesthetic- celebs etc all have fillers and Botox to stop them looking starved.
If the weight loss makes you feel healthier that will show in your face too.

being40 · 27/09/2020 16:08

Don't go on a low fat diet...

BrennieGirl · 27/09/2020 17:15

I've lost 6 stone over the last 18 months. I'm 47. My face definitely looks older. It probably doesn't help that I'm now growing out my grey hair but I really look my mother. My mouth looks more downturned now. I have vertical lines on either side of my mouth when I smile. I don't have multiple chins any more but I have a bit of a turkey neck.

Having said all that, my jawline is much better. I feel healthier and fitter. And there are a host of other health benefits. Plus I've had to buy a whole new wardrobe.

dancemom · 27/09/2020 17:51

I lost over 4 stone and looked a bit lollipop head like.
Put a stone back on. Back to a huge moon face.
Can't win.

Tambourinetunes · 27/09/2020 17:59

Rapidly approaching turkey neck territory here and really surprised by how upset I am about it. This is after losing 3 1/2 stone. I would like to lose another stone but the effects on my neck is putting me off.

Estrellente · 27/09/2020 18:39

I feel the same Tambourine. Am saving the money I’d have spent on treats for profhilo!

Fannybawz · 27/09/2020 18:44

Right ok thanks

Clearly need to start a filler fund ...!

Well done ... I aspire to your lollipop head!!

I am big boned (really) and have a big heid and obvious bins structure so hopefully I can dodge the jowls

I've lost nearly 3 stone in late 30s. My face looks good! I definitely look a bit older, but not a bad thing as I had a baby face before. It hasn't sagged or anything. My thighs on the other hand....! Hoping running will sort that one

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 27/09/2020 19:43

I've lost 4 1/2 stone since January and I'm very pleased with my cheekbones and jawline. We won't talk about my neck though. I'm 48.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 27/09/2020 20:21

It got thinner, I guess Blush

I was 39 in the before pic and 50 in the after if that helps at all.

Estrellente · 27/09/2020 20:39

AMAZING transformation!

spoonzy · 27/09/2020 21:09

My face isn't the best in general.

But I recently lost about a stone and 3/4 and my face is probably my most disappointing feature now, however saying that when I was that stone and a bit heavier I had a very mushy face which was also unflattering so can't win TBH.

I've lost a stone and a half and my face looks much better so far, but I'm still 2.5 stone overweight so let's see how it goes.
I doubt I'll lose the whole 2.5 stones anyway so I'll probably get away with it for a while at least. I'm 40.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 27/09/2020 21:41

I've lost three stone and my face, as well as the rest of me, looks so much better. I was moonfaced before, and now I have cheekbones and a jawline again.

Fannybawz · 27/09/2020 22:36

So are the wrinkles not more prominent! I have terrible lines and wonder if I’ll need to take serious steps to address them

A healthy body would give me far more than a pretty face however... so I’m on the case so to speak...
