Ever since I've known my dh he has had a growing tummy, he's not the least bothered by it even jokes it's somewhere to rest his tea. Me now getting a little older also developing a tummy, I diet, I wear clothes to disguise it, but we all know it's there. Why don't I just accept myself as I am like my dh. On holiday at the moment and putting on my bathing costume makes me so aware. Is this a female problem?

I think the "high tummies" should be dealt with, as in eat less and get a bit more exercise, these issues can cause serious health problems. I know a few men with this issue, and they drink too much beer, and eat huge meals and junk food all the time, and they seem to blob along happily without a care in the world, and seem to be proud of their huge paunches.

I think it’s very spikey to point out the use of the word tummy by the op
Who gives a fuck?

I don’t think it’s the use of the word tummy. It’s putting high in front of tummy that sounds strange to my ears. I’ve certainly never heard the expression before.

Fat, gut, beer gut, overweight, obese, beer belly seem to be more common parlance. It’s almost the like the OP can’t utter the word fat or say her husband's fat so has to euphemise instead.

I wondered if a high tummy was a beer gut, but when I googled it I got a whole load of images of beige shaping garments.

Thing is. This is style and beauty!
It’s just so unbelievably unnecessary to point out that word!
I get that it might not have made sense. :)
