What does everyone buy?

If you've found this page in search of tights that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best tights useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

I second putting pants over your tights. Miracle.

SerenityNowwwww · 23/09/2020 15:52

(And then you look like a superhero too)

SoddingWeddings · 23/09/2020 15:56

Snag. I'm 5'9" with a 34" inside leg, but dress size 22. Plus size designers assume that women who are fat are also short. Drives me nuts.

Snag are brilliant (plus I love the mental colours they do).

RubbishQueen · 23/09/2020 15:58

Another vote for snag.

SherryPalmer · 23/09/2020 16:00

I ordered some snag based on Mumsnet reviews. They all snagged first wear! I couldn’t believe it as never had thick tights snag so easily. If you do go for them don’t do what I did and buy five pairs and throw out all your old tights before finding out they are crap.

yellowDahlia · 23/09/2020 16:47

Primark black tights for boots. They're really thick, 200 denier I think and they've got a sort of attached 'sock' which feels so much comfier than ordinary tights which usually end up scrunching my toes. I size up and have never had issues with ankle wrinkles!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/09/2020 17:28

I found Snag tights absolutely rubbish. They snagged on the first wear, and they sent me the wrong order initially which although they did sort it was very annoying.

I like Falke 100 denier matte but they are expensive - they last forever though - and also think Oliver Bonas do excellent tights.

I hate leggings and much prefer thick black tights .. I always buy from Primark .

Oneandabean · 23/09/2020 19:34

Superdrug tights either the fleece lined or the tights for boots, they have a thick foot bit to keep your feet warm

milienhaus · 23/09/2020 19:36

Heist are comfiest (high wide waist band like being hugged) but most expensive, Snag are also good.

Snowdrop30 · 23/09/2020 19:38

Another vote for Snag here - they are so good

Ohhgreat · 23/09/2020 19:39

Snag tights!

Nitw1t · 23/09/2020 19:44

Snag.

I found heist rubbish: expensive and only lasted 2 wears.

Absolutely snag, best tights ever

Cantbutwill · 23/09/2020 20:10

Never heard of snag, is their PR crew on here tonight?! What’s different between Snag tights and regular same denier tights?

SoddingWeddings · 23/09/2020 20:19

Every time a tights conversation arises, the accusations of Snag planting posts comes up. It couldn't just be that they're quite common and pretty good.

The difference for me is the leg length. Instead of the crotch barely passing my knees and needing to pull them up constantly, they have a good leg length. Also no baggy crotches. It's just a decent design and try cater to more sizes from small to plus.

sweetbabylove · 23/09/2020 20:48

I love snag tights - for me it's because they aren't itchy like I find most tights and I can pull them up really high without the waistband digging in and being uncomfortable.
I also love the colour selection and the thickness. I've honestly never enjoyed wearing tights but love dresses so just put up with them but these are a game changer for me as they're genuinely so comfy.

pandafunfactory · 23/09/2020 20:50

Snag fit. It's that simple. I'm not pr for them, i just have a drawer full

Wolford

Craddle64 · 23/09/2020 21:17

Do you have narrow hips? Would hold ups or stockings work better?

Aliceinwanderland · 23/09/2020 21:24

Wolford. V expensive but last for years.

Zinnia · 23/09/2020 21:41

Falke - as PP says they are bloody expensive but brilliant and if you take care of them will last and last. Also rate the M&S body sensor, great value but yes do size up.
