Morning!

Has anyone used the above product? What are your thoughts on it?

I’m considering giving it a go as it’s an ‘all in one’ (particularly the fact that it’s factor 50). However, I am prone to hormonal spots from time to time and can’t seem to find out if it’s non comedogenic. It’s pricey so it could be an expensive mistake! I would say I have combination skin- can be oily around nose/chin but dry on the cheeks.

Thanks in advance!

Ooh Im don’t know but I’ve got similar skin to you and have also been looking at it! There’s always that fear When you put new base makeup on with hormonal spots Isn’t there?!

Pipperleen · 23/09/2020 08:11

A lot of people absolutely love it but it’s not for me.
I find it quite greasy and it seems to transfers easily on me. I also have an oily nose/chin/forehead and dry cheeks!

You can get travel sizes of it so might be worth giving one of those a go.

CurlsLDN · 23/09/2020 08:16

I first bought it on holiday in America and I absolutely loved it.
Bought it recently here in Boots and hated it, I found it very thick and greasy. I think it worked for me in America as the hot sun did a lot to dry it out on my skin.

I also suffer with spots on my chin and I found it made them worse.

I now use (and have always used!) Revlon colorstay for foundation, and have also started using this Nivea tinted day cream on days when I don't feel I need full foundation (most days now I wfh) it does everything that I hoped the it cosmetics cream would do but in a much lighter formulation

  • note it is SPF 15 not 50, but that's fine for me especially in winter wfh!
KaptainKaveman · 23/09/2020 08:19

I use it and love it, mainly because the shade I wear is a good match and for the SPF protection. I like the consistency, it's a bit more moussy than other ones. I also use Chanel Vitalumiere which has a more liquid consistency.

TeddyIsaHe · 23/09/2020 08:21

You still need a separate SPF to the one in your foundation. For it to be of similar protection you’d need about a tablespoon of foundation on your face which would look bizarre.

hopeishere · 23/09/2020 08:22

I didn't like it. Quite perfumed as well.

bobloblawlawblog · 23/09/2020 08:23

I really wanted to love this one as I liked the all in one idea too. It's really greasy and shiny (not dewy like I was hoping) and feels heavy. I ended up sticking with Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue which is a lower SPF but much nicer on.

ZaraW · 23/09/2020 08:24

I really like it. Lasts well and is full coverage. Never gave me spots.

MayMiracle · 23/09/2020 08:25

I absolutely love it. It's now my go to foundation, (in the past I've used Bobbi Brown, NARS, Illamasqua). I find it gives excellent coverage (which is buildable) and I like the fact it has an spf of 50. In in my early 40s with good skin, mild rosacea occasionally and this is excellent for that. I now use several other items from the IT range and have been pleased with them all.

You can order it from QVC and return it for refund if you're not happy with it. Or Boots sometimes run 20% off promotions on IT Smile

RD15 · 23/09/2020 09:54

Thanks for the replies everyone. I’ve ordered the travel one to see what I think. I’m currently using Nars and I do like it. Previously I’ve used various No7 foundations. I use heliocare oil free SPF under my foundation.

You’re right @TryingnottobeWaynettaSlob it’s a total lottery when you’re prone to spots!

I use the matte one, which is SPF 40, has some different skincare ingredients to the others and, I think, is fragrance free.

I tried the original one, but found that it left my skin looking a bit waxy. It's quite shiny and really showed my pores. It has quite a strong fragrance, smells a bit like a lemon cheesecake.

aristo · 23/09/2020 13:19

Quite heavy coverage but a beautiful finish. I wouldn't wear during the day personally but I have clear skin.

I'm interested in their new foundation which is lighter coverage

aristo · 23/09/2020 13:20

Also, you would have to use tonnes of it to get a 50 spf. A separate spf is always needed imo

Cherrypie32 · 23/09/2020 13:36

I use a bb cream so thought this might be similar but found it very heavy, thick and greasy in comparison. Much more of a foundation which I didn’t want.

Pancakeorcrepe · 23/09/2020 13:42

There are two formulas, matte and original.
I have oily skin but prefer the original one. I really love it but can understand it’s not for everyone. It does feel a bit waxy on the skin but has good staying power and coverage.

Rocaille · 23/09/2020 16:14

Much more of a foundation which I didn’t want.

Yes, I agree. It is in effect a foundation.

There are two formulas, matte and original.

There is also a 'luminous' formulation, but I've not tried it yet.

Also, you would have to use tonnes of it to get a 50 spf

I think the recommendation is to apply the equivalent of two teaspoons worth of SPF containing products, reapplying every two hours. Realistically, I'm not going to do that, regardless of whether my SPF is in a tinted or untinted product.

emma6776 · 23/09/2020 19:25

I really like it - it helped me make the transition from full coverage foundation to a CC. I’m 41 with combination skin and it gives a gorgeous long lasting finish on me. I use a really tiny amount and blend with a brush. I now use Estée Lauder cc which is far less coverage but still use the IT for bad face days.

RD15 · 23/09/2020 20:00

Thanks for the additional replies everyone. I’ll give it a go and report back 😊

I liked the idea but found the palest shade a bit yellow-toned for my ginger Celt skin. I think they're expanding the shade range, though?

LoriesGar · 23/09/2020 20:31

I hated it - I tried the illuminating version. I was colour matched in store but it went orange on me and wore off quickly. My male manager asked me what was wrong so it’s a no from me

TableNiner · 23/09/2020 21:13

I’ve tried the Matt version, I don’t think it blocks pores particularly but it’s very thick. It’s therefore not forgiving if you have the wrong shade or can’t find a good shade match

RosieCockle · 23/09/2020 21:26

It sits on my pores. I bought the brush for it last month but still no joy. My sister really likes it, however.

Zinnia · 23/09/2020 21:38

I had really high hopes for this but also find it sits in my pores. Not a great look. Really regretting that I didn't know about the travel size version before I splashed out on the full size! Have been eyeing up the Erborian CC as a potential next try instead.

cwtchesandprosecco · 23/09/2020 23:08

I like it but find I have to wear a primer and powder with it, which sort of defeats the point really.

Housewife2010 · 24/09/2020 11:12

I like it, but I tend to use it only in the winter. I use one pump with a damp beauty blender. I really don't see how it can be an all in one serum, moisturizer, SPF, foundation which is how it is marketed. If I used it straight after the shower in lieu of everything else I would have to use more than one pump and it would look so heavy. I always use serum, moisturizer and SPF underneath. It is too heavy for me in the warmer months and I use Glossier skin tint then.
