Thread for discussing the contents of the lovely Holland & Barrett 2020 advent calendar.

Please - no spoilers! Can we agree not to give away what's behind each door before that day?

See you all on 1st December!

For those with an empty door 21, mine was too but I found it behind a door at the bottom, one we haven't opened yet so hopefully it will be in there for you all somewhere.

lookdeepintotheparka · 08/12/2020 16:45

Today's looks lovely but sadly I don't have a bath Sad It'll be a lovely Christmas present though.

Still hoping the renegade face mask turns up somewhere Grin

mumonthehill · 08/12/2020 19:24

Do not use Bath milk as a shower gel. Nearly blew my head off, eyes watering still!!!!

Dreamingofsunnydays1 · 08/12/2020 19:35

I used two capsules in a bath tonight - it's ok but I like bubbles in my baths

Spaghettibetty345 · 08/12/2020 21:25

@lookdeepintotheparka
Use it as a foot soak.

CountryCob · 08/12/2020 23:12

I have a similar neals yard one, it is lovely though. Used hair mask tonight, thought it was fine and did use a more stripping shampoo than normal but hair doesn’t really feel mask level moisturised, will try again with a more gentle shampoo next time to see if that was the issue....

Bluesheep8 · 09/12/2020 06:41

Bath milk was lovely last night, really strongly scented and makes the water silky. I'd like a full size of that.
Had a good look around the calendar whilst trying not to open doors and my number 21 is NOWHERE to be seen Hmm

Plump82 · 09/12/2020 07:04

Today's is... Different!

PrincessWatermelon · 09/12/2020 07:30

Got to be honest - disappointed with today's!

Cookie79 · 09/12/2020 07:41

This morning’s offering has reminded me I must see if the Housing team at work are collecting unwanted toiletries again....

Jumbojem · 09/12/2020 07:43

Can't really get excited about toothpaste but perhaps nice to try an eco one I definitely would not usually buy.

Dreamingofsunnydays1 · 09/12/2020 08:05

Not sure about I feel about today's

Beadley · 09/12/2020 08:14

I’m conditioned to need the taste of mint in my tooth paste in order to feel my teeth are clean. Today’s item will be passed on. It’s a good size though!

I’ve been using the day cream and the bb cream since the beginning of Dec and I really like them. Will repurchase.

lookdeepintotheparka · 09/12/2020 08:44

We got this in last year's calendar and I passed it on then Grin ah well it's the first one I've been genuinely disappointed with

@Spaghettibetty345 that's an excellent idea about using the bath stuff as a foot soak!

So far I'm most pleased with the Bliss bar and the serum - my skin reacted a bit on first use but it's fine now and makes a visible difference!

Bluesheep8 · 09/12/2020 09:35

I'm loving the BB cream, definitely going to buy that, and the bath milk. Not sure about the serum

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 09/12/2020 09:49

Day 9: Ecodenta Organic Anti-plaque Toothpaste with Coconut Oil 75ml

I actually don't mind this! I was a little put off by the coconuts all over the packaging but it's actually not too coconutty and quite minty. It left my teeth feeling clean but it's not nearly as minty and fresh as a normal toothpaste so I did feel like I had to use a mouthwash afterwards too. I'll probably use the rest of this but won't re-purchase. I might be persuaded to try another eco friendly one that has no coconut though!

I needed to buy toothpaste, so I got toothpaste in today's offerings: handy if nothing else.

I've used the face bar a few days in a row now and am starting to feel a little tight-skinned; maybe only for occasional use.

WrinklesShminkles · 09/12/2020 13:48

I didn't feel disappointed as I knew this AC had some more practical items in it. The toothpaste is slightly minty and not as foamy as normal ones. I think it'll be good when my gums are feeling sensitive. I probably wouldn't purchase this as I like toothpastes to have fluoride in, but I'll use it up.

Generally very happy with the calendar so far, think £40 will feel like a bargain once it's all out Smile

BlueRabbitWasNaughty · 09/12/2020 13:55

I'm pretty happy with the toothpaste although I've not tried it yet - I love the full sized items. The coconut smell is mildly off putting as we're so used to mint but I'm sure we'll use it.

Xanadu58 · 09/12/2020 14:07

I was very unsure about the toothpaste I'm not a fan of coconut but I tried it and was pleasantly surprised , definitely more minty than coconut but not very foamy . Will use it but prefer a stronger mint flavour.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 09/12/2020 14:53

Definitely! We've had several full size items already and even the smaller sizes have been decent. Today's toothpaste is £5 a tube (though currently on offer). Another reason why I won't be switching from my 85p Aquafresh Grin

I will try that toothpaste tonight. For the money I think the items are good. My favourite is the shower gel.

Writersblock2 · 09/12/2020 16:12

I like the toothpaste. I enjoyed it last year and I quite like the mix of practical and luxe items in this calendar.

PalacePaper · 09/12/2020 16:33

I tried the toothpaste this morning and quite liked it, it had a nice pepperminty taste and not coconutty at all. Not sure I'll be swapping at £5 a tube though!! Shock

dizzygirl1 · 09/12/2020 16:36

Tried the Bath milk today, it was amazing, I'm off sick and it was exactly what I needed!
