A Toast swingy needlecord shirt dress in the most gorgeous colour ("golden syrup") that is going to be my absolute winter staple. Barelegs and white trainers today cos its mild, but tights and boots in a few weeks

Myshitisreal · 06/10/2020 16:57

How bare legged eek 😂 love the colour description.

Im eyeing up a hell bunny pinafore. Anyone got one recently? I've read they can size big but it's the norkage I'm unsure about.

I've bought a pair of magic trousers on ebay..... 😂 Not sure how to feel about that or how they will look. I hate clothes being tight, I like them to fit a certain way. It's a real sensory thing.

sugarbum · 07/10/2020 10:57

@Myshitisreal Hell Bunny Pinafores are great but in my opinion too short. Of course thats relative. I'm almost 5ft 5 though and they are above my knees. They are true to size and norkage should be ok. I actually made my own pinafore based on the HB one because I love the design. Photo is from a while back. I returned it due to length.

Myshitisreal · 07/10/2020 14:11

Oooo I love that length, is that your too short? I'll be honest, I don't really suit over the knee, it makes my proportions all wrong, and i look dowdy. I do prefer above the knee. I think below the knee looks great on people, just not me. The skirt I was wearing yesterday is shorter than your pinafore 😂 😳 I'm 5ft 6. I think that pinafore looks fab on you, love the stripey top 😁

Im just usually a 16 but am unsure if I need to size up for the boobs. The previous hell bunny dresses in the xxl 18 fitted in the bust but was a little gapey in other places.

I so appreciate your reply @sugarbum 😍

Im wearing cookie monster pjs so no pic. Gonna shower now, delayed today!

sugarbum · 07/10/2020 14:19

@Myshitisreal like I said, its all relative. I hate my knees on show Grin I think you'll be ok with a 16. If you get an 18 it will probably be too big on the waist. The straps are adjustable in length for norkage - as its just a square flap on the front you should be fine.

Myshitisreal · 07/10/2020 14:21

Absolutely, all relative 😍 you Do look amazing in it just so you know. You have lovely knees 😂

sugarbum · 07/10/2020 16:02

@myshitisreal damn. Wish my DH spoke to me like that Grin

Myshitisreal · 07/10/2020 16:13

What's his problem, it's stunning 😍 has he given you a knee complex??? My other half is very complimentary but he has to pull me into line sometimes when I put on crazy shit 😂. I've taught him how to understand the difference between a nice item of clothing and it not suiting so he's very good at being honest when something doesn't suit (without hurting my feelings). He would have me in skinny jeans all day long if he could.

After saying I don't wear below the knee, I'm wearing something below the knee. And actually I feel horrible today, can feel its tighter than usual with lockdown pounds on 🤮

Charity shop pinafore size L, brand 'flower shop'. Old h and m stripy top. Thermal tights. Outfit inspired by sugarbums 😂

Just padding around the house. What's everyone else wearing????

sugarbum · 07/10/2020 20:31

I'm actually wearing my leopard print pinafore dress today. not a lot of point posting it, since its on this thread somewhere already :)

Myshitisreal · 08/10/2020 20:50

Anyone fancy embracing dress up Friday???

No requirements, just make a bit more effort than normal - dressy or as casual. As you like. I might look out a sequins skirt I have 😊 or I have a dress I've not worn yet this winter

Saying 👋 to Jessicathejellyfish

LivingDeadGirlUK · 08/10/2020 20:56

I've been a slob this week so dress up Friday may be in order. I might make a trip to the chippy :p

Myshitisreal · 08/10/2020 21:27

Ohhhh great I don't think I'll be out the door 😂 but I'll still try. Have you any thoughts??

buckeejit · 08/10/2020 22:11

Oh helllooooo! Don't know how I lost the last thread, but good to find everyone again 😁

Was just thinking of looking for some comfy jersey trousers, then found this thread & thought I can't be arsed to dress nicely for every day, (I'm a childminder so seems pointless, but I already have a few nice jersey dresses which are comfy so will start make an effort Friday again as of tomorro!

I'm still in my sandals though. Seem to be in denial that October is here!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 08/10/2020 22:17

@Myshitisreal dress up Friday sounds like a great idea! Although I'm not sure I have any nicer clothes in my wardrobe which the DC have not managed to ruin somehow Hmm

I've been on here before but have a new username now; just wanted to say thank you for everyone posting their fab ideas still, it's very inspiring. I really want to get back into wearing a skirt, tights and boots this winter, but will need to save up a few ££ first, even just to do it via ebay/ charity shops.

Sorry to read that @JessicaTheJellyfish is taking a break for a while, I hope she is well! And I do agree that some of the threads are ridiculous, I tend to only stick to areas that I'm interested in and ignore the rest...

Myshitisreal · 08/10/2020 22:29

Welcome back @buckeejit I think you're a fellow NI er, are you????

@claratheimpossiblegirl don't worry there's no dress code here 😁. The term dress up is so subjective, so it's just about making a bit of extra effort, whatever that may be for you ♥

LivingDeadGirlUK · 09/10/2020 08:33

So its the first wear of this Hell Bunny dress which started the EMP addiction for a lot of you lol. Size XL and fits really well as has adjustable straps. No where to go today so just sat at my desk looking fabulous!

Myshitisreal · 09/10/2020 13:10

Oh my days that dress is so nice on you 😍 it's mega flattering. Just 👌. How do you feel in it????

LivingDeadGirlUK · 09/10/2020 13:20

I feel pretty darn good tbh, not been out of joggers all week. It def makes a difference to your mood getting dressed instead of grabbing the first comfies!

Mr LDGUK is also appreciating dress up Friday, I might have to file a home office sexual harrasment case at this rate :p

Myshitisreal · 09/10/2020 13:44

I love it 😂 you'll look great going for chips (mmmmmm chips)

I've picked my outfit out, going to do exercise here then ill get dressed after showering. I know my husband will think I've lost the plot a bit 😂

It really does affect the mood doesn't it

Myshitisreal · 09/10/2020 15:05

So this is my dress up. It looks very casual but this is a lot for me 😂 considering I'm getting into clean pj's every day (being on furlough)

Skirt L from oasis (bought the day before my 40th birthday 😂) wearing a sparkly thermagen top, tarot card top very old. It laces up the back corset style. Black thermal tights. Extra pics added to show sparkle.. Can't wait to hear husband reaction, possibly some joke about me dressing up for the Tesco delivery driver later 😂

StCharlotte · 10/10/2020 13:48

Bugger. Missed dress up Friday again.

Today's an indoor day so it's black leggings and my birthday Uggs (Cornish pasty feet!) and a long length pink t shirt.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/10/2020 14:23

@Myshitisreal love the sparkle, I hope they have stayed intact, if I wear sequins I shed them lol.

@stcharlotte might be time to crack out my Uggs too!

Myshitisreal · 10/10/2020 18:05

The skirt is great, the sparkle is unreal 😍

Cosies today, no pic!

iguanadonna · 11/10/2020 14:14

I'd like to join the thread and talk about nice coats and cheer up a bit, if anyone else is thinking about coats atm.

Needed an autumn one today and spent ages, ended up with literally the only coat that fitted me in the whole big department store in the city where I live. It's ok, a navy cocoon job. But only ok.

I used to have a black boiled wool cocoon-shape one from East which I loved, but it wore out in the end.

I'm a UK 18, 5'7.5". Even when was slim and gorgeous at 18 was still size 14. Actually not particularly bad figure now post-babies, very curvy, quite fit. But rugby shoulders, huge hands, head too big for women's hats. Always felt too big. Somehow coats especially, because it's nice to be able to just chuck them on without having to think about not wearing a jumper underneath etc etc.

Anyway, is there anywhere that sells coats that might fit me and are, I dunno, even a bit elegant?

Otherwise I'm wearing a Boden jumper in a lovely turquoise and some M&S trousers - they are the only place I've found that cope with the curves.
