Opinions on these boots please, and help me style them for work

I am short and never feel put together unless I am wearing high heels, but I walk a lot so need to be comfy. What do you all think of these boots? I love the new trend of plain biker boots but they're just too long on the leg for me and cut me off at a funny place. I am 50 by the way, and non slim size 10 (not fat either).

They're nice, but the heels looks too high to be comfortable if you do much walking.

joystir59 · 10/09/2020 06:45

I don't like them. Heels much too high.

W00t · 10/09/2020 06:47

They would go with tapered trousers or calf length, wide skirts...but if you're short, the skirts would look more 'peasant farmer' than stylish, I'm afraid (I am 5'0"!)

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 10/09/2020 06:54

Yes, I do suspect they would look weird with dresses and skirts because I am short and 50. I suspect I am better off with my usual knee boots, even though they seem a bit dated.

I love them! I actually think they would look great with skinny trousers or a dress / skirt

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 10/09/2020 07:23

@ W00t, I guess what I am trying to achieve is a balance between looking and feeling professional and put together and wearing something I can walk on. If I was going on a walk these boots would def not be my choice. Not easy being this short you know?

I read in red magazine that knee boots are the height of fashion this season. So maybe stick to them if you like them.

AnotheBloodyChinHair · 12/09/2020 13:24

I love them and they seem comfortable despite the height.

@Bedroomdilemma I read that too and I'm delighted about it.

MikeUniformMike · 12/09/2020 14:05

They look fine, a bit like the ones my short and not slim not fat colleague wears with a dress and dark tights. She always looks great.

BusinessGoose · 12/09/2020 14:43

Vagabond boots are really comfy, I've had a pair since 2016 and they still look great. I usually wear mine with dresses and tights.

BryceQuinlan · 13/09/2020 10:32

Vagabond boots are the most comfortable I've owned. Love them!

GoldfishParade · 13/09/2020 11:06

Hmmm. I would prefer either a clunkier flat proper clompy biker boot, or a more glamorous/intricate heeled boot.

This is too halfway for me.

MikeUniformMike · 13/09/2020 12:18

I'm inclined to agree with GoldfishParade.

These are nice, OP, and there's a lot of other gorgeous boots on their site.

They are a bit marmite. Very 90's in style and I guess the 90's are having a bit of a comeback. I had a similar pair when I was in my late teens. Not sure how I would style those to be honest, to me they seem quite a statement shoe and would be the main focus of an outfit.

Sexnotgender · 13/09/2020 12:44

Really not a fan. I think they look quite dated.

Snackasaurus · 13/09/2020 13:06

I'm 26 and love them! 😊 I'd wear them with tights and a dress 😊 If you like them, definitely get them. It shouldn't matter if others like them or not! 😊

VinylDetective · 13/09/2020 14:29

They look like orthopaedic boots - and not on a good way. The heels are too high and they’re really dated. Flat boots can look very professional, the M&S ones are nice and there are lots of really nice Chelsea boots around now.

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 13/09/2020 15:03

I have 2 pairs similar to this, I wear them with dresses, smart trousers, jeans - everything really. I'm 40 and 5ft 1, if you like them get them

BloggersNetwork · 15/09/2020 17:25

I am surprised to hear that some people think they're dated. I work in a 6th Form college and all the girls are wearing shoes like those with opaque tights and a skirt or with cigarette ankle trousers.

wishywashywoowoo70 · 15/09/2020 17:32

Sorry I really don't like them. The heel on the boot is very dated.

If you like biker boots they need to be flat.

drumandthebass · 15/09/2020 17:34

I really like them and think they would look great with a long dress, skinny jeans, ankle length trousers- lots of things really Smile

Iamthewombat · 15/09/2020 17:35

This!

No, no and thrice no to the boots. Teenagers in the 1990s wore stuff like this. That sixth formers are again wearing ill-advised boots like this is no endorsement!

They look clumsy. I agree with the PP who said go for a proper flat boot or a more elegant heeled style.

18 yr olds can wear literally anything though and look fabulous/cool/up to date.

Thank you for your opinions. They seem quite divided down the middle I'd say? So those who think they're horrible, is it because of my age? I am too short to feel well put together in flat shoes/boots. But I need to be comfortable Confused.

Nothing to do with you/your age. All about the boots being horrible.
