Great jumpers everyone. It’s so useful to see pictures of the clothes on people (real people)

Yorkshirelass04 · 16/10/2020 14:17

I'm out and about in the Sali jumper!

faustina · 16/10/2020 14:37

have you seen the lovely fair isle things at Plumo? Some really nice stuff

here

faustina · 16/10/2020 14:38

@Yorkshirelass04 - that looks amazing!

ToastCosILoveIt · 16/10/2020 14:52

@Saffyrosie, let me know how you get on with the dress. It has no pockets but otherwise really nice to wear and the drawstrings at the front pull it in nicely.

I am loving the jumper modelling on here: you all look fab.

I am a big fan of Plumo too but their prices are high. I do have some lovely things from them and have my eyes on the Pintucker pants and the Writers pants but am waiting for a 10% off code.

Laska2Meryls · 16/10/2020 17:34

Here's my Sali jumper !! Its very soft but I dont think that the M is too big on me .
I wont buy from Plumo on principal.. they get stuff 8n from other companies and charge extra.. I once bought a dress from them and found it direct from the labels website at 50 cheaper!! When I queried it with Plumo.. they said it was because they 'curated a collection ' and so could justify charging more Rowlocks to that!! 😂

faustina · 16/10/2020 17:36

@ToastCosILoveIt - every time I check out at Ocado I see a 15% code for Plumo - it's Brook

faustina · 16/10/2020 17:38

@Laska2Meryls - that looks lovely on you!

I haven't seen the prices on Plumo being any higher than elsewhere (and have compared some myself) - but that is a bit shit to double them! Maybe they paid attention to you and adjusted them?

Craftycorvid · 16/10/2020 17:48

Another gorgeous jumper, Laska. You wear them well!

Laska2Meryls · 16/10/2020 17:48

....but actually I like last year's version better.. think it's going back..

ToastCosILoveIt · 16/10/2020 18:01

Thank you @Laska2Meryls, that is great, will check out my basket at Plumo!

Yorkshirelass04 · 16/10/2020 18:22

@Laska2Meryls Yay we are jumper twins!

Craftycorvid · 16/10/2020 18:49

Completely by the by, but that’s a great bathroom in the background, Laska.

Laska2Meryls · 16/10/2020 18:52

Afraid its going back Yorkshirelass . I just dont love it enough .. and at that price , you really have to..
Its lovely though , but I really like last year's version better on me. (Looks great on you and Sali ..but I am fairly substantial of nork and I think it just doesn't work on me ).. enjoy yoursSmile

Laska2Meryls · 16/10/2020 18:54

Got the gingham dress in an S, it came back in stock. 🤩🤩🤩

dudsville · 16/10/2020 20:48

I've just given in and bought three items and thought... there's a toast thread I can post on!

Craftycorvid · 16/10/2020 21:03

Aaaand that lovely gingham dress is OOS in smaller sizes. Mind, at that price, it may be just as well for my finances.

NoCureForLove · 16/10/2020 23:23

And I've just bought the fair isle sweater in the blue with red yoke Smile
But I did resist the cord tapered trousers...

Gonegrey31 · 17/10/2020 08:16

I have also bought that sweater NoCureForLove! Yet again, it maybe too short for dumpy me. Let’s see . Colours are wonderful.

Countmeout · 17/10/2020 08:39

I though it looked longer on @AFingerofFudge than I expected @Gonegrey31.

I have all the jumpers I need though that one is growing on me. I’ve had my arran type cardigan on(and off) all week. Now Autumn is actually here and after a not great summer I am somewhat warm mostly. 😖
I got my Annie denims in the post yesterday. I’m going to sit on them for a week, ordered both sizes. I really need to get these lbs off I put on over the summer, if I do the bigger size I ordered might be too big (ever the optimist) and annoyingly, but not surprisingly each size gains an inch (had my measuring tape out again) in the width of the leg and I prefer the width of the leg in the smaller size aaaagh! It just looks less flappy.

Craftycorvid · 17/10/2020 08:59

As a vertically challenged lass, I do find Toast’s tendency towards bracelet length sleeves and going shorter/narrower in the width with smaller sizes is helpful.

Saurus72 · 17/10/2020 17:17

We went to Hampstead today which was lovely, and I popped into Toast (all very calm and lovely) to try on the falling leaves dress. I’ve been looking at it online for absolutely ages but £190 😬. In the meantime I tried tone a bit more frugal by ordering a dress from Hush. But honestly when it arrived it felt very poor quality and I just couldn’t make myself like it. So back that’s gone and the Toast leaves dress has been welcomed in 😊. V glad I tried on in the shop as I went down one size from my usual Toast size, so I avoided to-ing and fro-ing with online orders. V happy with it - I think it will work well most of the year with different shoes/boots/layers. The cost is v high but fits with my whole ‘less but better’ ethos.

The only remaining item on my Toast wish list is the cashmere wrap/scarf. Will have to wait a while...

Looks beautiful on you @Saurus72. I spied someone trying it on in my local Toast recently and thought it looked so much nicer on a human than on the hanger.
I am after some thoughts on wearing bare legs in winter. Due to medical reasons, I can’t wear anything tight on my upper thighs, so leggings and tights are out, as are skinny jeans and tight trousers. In warmer months I wear a lot of dresses and skirts. In winter I usually wear the one or two pairs of trousers I have that are ok for me, but would love to wear more skirts and dresses. I have tried over the knee socks but they always fall down or go baggy around the ankles (not a good look), and hold up stockings I both hate and are too tight on my legs. I have noticed the Toast models are always sporting a bare leg with dresses, often with a lovely sock and boot combo. I have lovely Blundstone boots which work with dresses and I could buy myself some better socks, but what are your thoughts on this look once it is cold enough that you have to wear a coat too? Does it become a bit bag lady looking? (Although I am in Scotland, I would not be particularly cold with bare legs until the very depths of jan/feb, so am not asking about the cold factor, I know some people would think this crazy on that account). I await your thoughts...
