Ankle boots

I’m looking for a pair of flat ankle boots that will last for years, I’m happy to look at different styles etc but in my head I’d like tan suede ones,
Does anyone have any recommendations?
My boots always seem to end up with the sole peeling off and that does not make for warm feet in winter.

I have these ones from We Are Cara. They go really well with jeans and skirts!

What is your budget?
IMO the best ankle boots come from Penelope Chilvers but they are quite expensive. In my view, cost per wear they are definitely worth it though, and the styles are classic.
I have the inclement boots and can report that they are such brilliant boots.

I also think penelope chilvers are great, and russell and bromley do great ones too. They last ages.
Bluntness100 · 03/09/2020 16:44
Oh god now I want those olive green inclement boots..
Gulpingcoffee · 03/09/2020 16:49
I’ve had long lasting boots from the French brand Bobbies
MrsBeltane · 03/09/2020 17:02
I have a pair Blundstone boots. Seem to be lasting well, and very comfortable.

I don't think tan suede will last you years...
But my most comfortable, and long lasting are Sam Edelman Pettys, or H Hudson boots.
samlovesdilys · 03/09/2020 17:19
Have you looked at Duo Boots? They do ankle and knee length boots...
PersonaNonGarter · 03/09/2020 18:01
@Bluntness100 I adore mine, two years in, I wear them most days and I am still excited about them.
Bluntness100 · 03/09/2020 18:06
I’m seriously tempted, I just keep buying expensive boots every winter though,,🤪

Russell and Bromley
That is all

I have a size 9/10 feet. I always end up with cheap fugly ones

Timberland? Some of the chelsea boot types are nice.
I'd rule out suede, try nubuck instead. Leather is better but not patent leather as they tend to be unyielding.

I've drooled over Penelope Chilvers boots not that long ago. Didn't get them because I won't look after suede properly.
Fairfax & Favour do nice tan riding boot styles. There's a less expensive make too.
hastingsmua1 · 03/09/2020 19:37
Depends what you mean by “last for years”. I think ankle boots are outdated now so you might not want to wear them year on year
MikeUniformMike · 03/09/2020 20:31
Why did I click that link? So many nice boots.
The cropped leather ones are nice.
PersonaNonGarter · 03/09/2020 21:00
Oh I know
I appreciate that Kate Middleton is not everyone’s style icon but she has these long boots and I would very much like some too.

I have these and they are beauts!!
MikeUniformMike · 03/09/2020 21:29
Yes. The CoW wears Fairfax and Favour boots of a sort of similar style.
KM would look good in anything and is always dressed appropriately. Her MIL wore some real horrors but was a style icon.
MikeUniformMike · 03/09/2020 21:30
I really like the CoW's style in general.
PD once she got the dressing to her body type was transformed.
MikeUniformMike · 03/09/2020 21:32
Cross posted, and indeed they are but I'd get nubuck
DerelictWreck · 03/09/2020 22:03
@samlovesdilys
Don't go anywhere near Duo boots the quality is appalling and the customer service shit!
pguppgdown · 04/09/2020 04:24
