Please tell me all about your working from home clothes

Good evening all - I'm sorry if this has been done many times already but have any of you felt like you've had to develop a working from home wardrobe? I feel daft asking but in my job I've been told I'll be working from home indefinitely with occasional trips to the office.
I actually quite like getting a bit more dressed up for work, it helps me focus and I've noticed I've been getting increasingly slobbish casual as the pandemic has gone on.

So what are you all wearing for working at home please? I don't want to sit at my kitchen table in office attire but I'm getting sick of my default uniform of jeans and a t-shirt (I can't believe I just typed that).

Plain long-line t shirts or tunics over thick leggings. Smart enough for webcam, comfy and works for lunchbreak playing with DC

MrsSwears2Much · 27/08/2020 20:28

I'm stuck in fitness gear because my jeans don't fit me anymore. (Lockdown15 Grin)

I haven't had to go back to the office yet though and my organisation don't use Skype. So even staying in my pjs some days is fine.

crosshatching · 27/08/2020 20:29

@MinesAPintOfTea that sounds nice and heavens to having to play with the DC at lunchtime mine are of an age I just have to yell at them to get them out of bed at that time!

Mainly pyjamas or lounge wear (T-shirt, joggers, leggings etc) because I hate wearing jeans in the house! Luckily no zoom/ webcam calls though otherwise I might make more of an effort 😂

dudsville · 27/08/2020 20:33

I started in ultra casual wear but the novelty wore off. I'm in toast trousers with fun quirky tops, or shirt dresses, and sandals.

OvertiredandConfused · 27/08/2020 20:33

I’m wearing fairly smart tops with jewellery and make up but much more relaxed bottoms - jeans / leggings. Works for the mindset and endless zoom calls but still comfortable. Occasionally I wear a midi dress!

Amrythings · 27/08/2020 20:36

We're out of the building until at least the New Year, so no point in wearing any of my nice work gear. I'd roast, anyway, I was pregnant last summer and cheerfully thinned out my summer work wardrobe with the intention of a shopping spree at Easter. I've been desperately rotating my limited number of respectable t-shirts to wear on video calls and mostly living in jeans.

Now that DS is weaned and back in nursery I'm trawling the sales for nice neat t-shirts and drapy jersey tops to see me through until jumper weather. The ruffle and high neck trends are thwarting me something serious though. DH says I should just wear vests and joggers and keep the camera off. Like him. Grin

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 27/08/2020 20:44

I'm literally in black leggings and t-shirts almost every damn day. Sometimes I don't even change out of my pyjamas 🙈

It's killing me because before I used to wear heels and dresses / nice trousers everyday for work. But I've not been to the office since March.

Thank you all for commenting - it seems a lot of us are working as comfortably as possible! I need to get myself feeling a bit more 'dressed for work' because I know I get more done like that and the universe seems to know when I'm still in my jammies because that's when I get random Face Teams meetings/calls!

Wfh is my norm. I always have a kimono top over the back of my work seat and if a meeting suddenly occurs I shove it on if I'm not quite as I'd like to be clothes wise.
DelphiniumBlue · 27/08/2020 21:43

Was talking to a friend yesterday who is v senior in her job and had a lot of Zoom meetings. She was saying she'll often be in her PJs with jewellery and a nice big scarf draped over the top. And lipstick.
I tend to wear loose jersey dresses with leggings in the house, as I don't own PJs.

elizabethdraper · 27/08/2020 21:46

Jersey dresses/tunics and leggings

Mrsdoubtfireswig · 27/08/2020 21:48

T-shirt / Breton top and jeans / leggings, but now it’s getting a bit cooler looking forward to chunky jumpers and oversized cardigans

But am going to start wearing work trousers / short dresses to start phasing myself back in to work wardrobe

Don’t think I’ll be going back to heels though !

Kittywampus · 27/08/2020 21:52

I've started sleeping in normal tshirts so I don't get caught out by the early morning zoom call before I've got dressed

user1463178569 · 27/08/2020 21:56

Normally would get up and ready and wear what I would to the office as still expected to do visits. However, today I knew I wasn't doing visits and stupidly stayed in my PJ's and got an unexpected video call. Had to cover myself with a blanket and immediately got dressed! Blush!

Hardbackwriter · 27/08/2020 22:08

Mine is going downhill by the day - partially, to be fair, because I'm pregnant and fewer and fewer of my clothes fit, but also because of laziness. I got the time of a meeting wrong the other day and so had to do it in my pyjama bottoms, one of DH's shirts that I found on the floor (my pyjama top was too skimpy to be seen!) and my hair scraped back into a very messy bun indeed. It wasn't my best look.

excelledyourself · 27/08/2020 22:12

Who are these horrid people calling unexpectedly on video calls?! I do quite a bit of Teams and Zoom, but they are always pre-arranged.

My boss video called once unannounced and my colleague and I told him we were both having a bad face day, and weren't up for that. He just does normal or scheduled calls now Grin He's a good egg.

Mostly plain/casual tops and jeans here, but this is still our summer period where we can be completely casual anyway.

RomaineCalm · 27/08/2020 22:17

I've been wearing shorts since March but with long/short sleeved scoop-necked jersey tops in black/navy/subtle stripes.

Passthecake30 · 27/08/2020 22:18

I have several basic plain tshirts from Primark that don’t need ironing, that get paired with jeans or 25yr old joggers.
I’m going to wfh for ages, so would like to get more cosy bits for autumn/winter, some chunky long cardigans for a start as otherwise I’ll be resorting to my dressing gown ☺️
I don’t enjoy shopping for clothes as I struggle to find things that are long enough (6ft), and hate wearing shoes... so I’m loving the casual life.

CorianderLord · 27/08/2020 22:21

PJs. Sometimes I wear crop tops and pants.

FrangipaniBlue · 27/08/2020 22:30

Today it was Monsters University PJs. Hoodie thrown over the top for video calls Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 27/08/2020 22:42

I've wfh for 25 years, and we never use video during meetings.
So on days when I've had Pilates in the morning I often CBA to change out of exercise gear, other days my default nowadays is the ultra comfortable Next 'joggers' (comfy leggings really) and a tshirt , or shorts/skirt and a vest top if it's hot.

My contribution is probably misplaced on S&B, it's C&P (comfortable and practical)Grin

BestIsWest · 27/08/2020 22:50

I wear mostly jersey tunics or dresses with leggings and trainers. Or exercise gear. I find it more comfortable than jeans or trousers.

TheId · 27/08/2020 22:52

Oh gawd

I was hoping I wasn't alone in my wfh uniform being PJs with something slung on the top half to look like I actually got washed and dressed.

I think it's just me isn't it?
I'll get my coat.

In my defence I don't wfh every day and I never did pre-pandemic so I have not got with the picture on this. I also hate mornings with a passion and was usually late for the first meeting when I had to go in. I can't really think of an even vaguely acceptable excuse to be late to my own kitchen table so if I'm running late then the first meeting will be conducted in PJs plus jumper.
I mean no-one has noticed right?
