Best opaque tights please

Any recommendations? I’ve tried Snag recently and while I liked them they weren’t truly opaque. I’m size 12, 5ft 7, long torso. Anyone similar kind of size and have found a holy grail opaque tight?

I love snag, but found that I needed to err on the side of sizing up to get truly opaque. Because then I didn't need to stretch the legs too much.

vixxo · 26/08/2020 18:04

I really like M&S tights and they seem pretty opaque to me. I got some black ones in 2016 and they're still going strong and look pretty much the same!!!

Ponks · 26/08/2020 22:03

I really rate the M&S Autograph velvet feel ones. Think they are Autograph anyway. M&S do lots of different types but it's worth getting the more expensive ones rather than the 3 in a pack 40denier ones.

Tinyleaf · 26/08/2020 22:06

Has anyone seen any flesh/tan/ beige coloured opaques anywhere? Black is too harsh for me and bright colours wouldn’t work

Fairybatman · 26/08/2020 22:07

I like the M&S ones but snag are so much more comfortable. They do nude opaques too.

SilverOtter · 26/08/2020 22:10

Another vote for Snag🙋🏻‍♀️

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 26/08/2020 22:17

I love Snag and don't buy any other rights now. I don't have a problem with them not being opaque enough.

StarlightLady · 27/08/2020 05:46

Oh no, are we really approaching that time of year? I hope we can hold off until October.

The M&S Autograph Soft Luxe seam free are lovely. The lack of seam makes them so much more comfy and they have a “proper” cotton gusset so you can opt whether or not to wear knickers with them; they stay up and stop put much better without.

IndecentFeminist · 27/08/2020 08:23

I have some very opaque m&s ones, I'll check the label. I don't wear them as often just because they don't seem to stay up as well b

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/08/2020 09:43

I quite fancy a change so M&S sound good.

The Primark Bodyshaper opaque tights are brilliant. They are the best I've found and go up to 100 denier. I always size up.

justanotherneighinparadise · 27/08/2020 20:43

Sadly I’m nowhere near a Primark

Deathraystare · 28/08/2020 11:50

I always buy from M&S - except when I go to Primark!!

Mamette · 28/08/2020 13:32

M&S velvet touch - they last forever and are so comfortable and slightly matt. I don’t like shiny ones.

I have never tried snag ones though.

BeaLola · 28/08/2020 13:47

I am larger than you - I buy the Autogrsph M&S Velvet ones mentioned up thread when M&S do their 20% off offers - I buy 10 pairs at a time and they are comfy and last well - the cheaper ones IMO are not comfy

LoeliaPonsonby · 28/08/2020 14:03

John Lewis velvet touch are good, and come in a range of colours. Previous tights threads got pulled because they were full of (not so subtle) shills for Snag tights, so be careful. I have a few pairs of Snag tights but can’t say they are anything special.

justanotherneighinparadise · 28/08/2020 14:03

My issue with Snag was that they weren’t opaque and unfortunately did seem to snag very easily 🙈

Another vote for M&S, I like the ones that keep you cool/warm magic things!

Twaddledee · 28/08/2020 14:17

M&S tights last forever if you get the really high denier ones - or there did, I not long ago got rid of ones I had at school 😳. I always size up for comfort and opacity

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/08/2020 14:27

The Snag tights I got were rubbish - not good "coverage", and they pulled really easily.

I know they are ££ but in my experience the best opaques are Falke 100 denier. If you can stomach the initial outlay they honestly do last forever. I went through a period about six years ago where I bought a pair every month from April to October, and still have all of them bar one pair that the cat wrecked.

DCIHoops · 28/08/2020 16:39

Wolford tights

Annebronte · 28/08/2020 16:44

Heist, Wolford and Falke are the best.

ShieldingSheila · 28/08/2020 17:19

I've always been an M&S fan but they changed them a couple of years ago resulting in opaque tights that don't stay put. Discovered Tesco's in my search for an alternative. They are the best, better than M&S ever were! Their kids school tights are great too.

Ynwa1234 · 28/08/2020 18:15

Bit random but I was desparate for some opaque tights and was in Wilkinsons and they had some there, wore today for work and they are fab size up I went for so Large x

Hazelnutlatteplease · 28/08/2020 18:18

Another vote for M&S. But i swap to Primark velvet lined leggings once it gets winter proper
