3 year hunt for a tinted moisteriser

I have spent years searching for a tinted moisteriser (or BB cream) that doesn't settle in my pores and give me a light cakey look where I just look like I have lots of holes all over my face (great look) that are obvious.

Before it was withdrawn I lived in Shu Uemura mousse which I loved. Foundation wise I only ever wear Bareminerals original mineral. It is the only foundation that doesn't settle in pores. But I need a really light coverage, easy to apply tinted moisturiser for day to day wear.

I've tried Bobbi Brown which was really bad
Garnier BB cream was the wrong colour and oxidised
L'Oréal magic settled in my pores really badly

I have a BM complexion rescue which is just okay - settles in pores a little but not as bad as others.

I have combination skin and have a pore filling primer as well.

As even expensive ones dont really do it I don't want to spend a lot on something that might not work. Shall I just admit defeat?

Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturiser works very well for me.

Bananaman123 · 25/08/2020 20:05

i like nars tinted moisturiser, i dont put powder over large pores as feel it draws attention to them

tbontbtitq · 25/08/2020 20:13

I'm using a Shu Uemura one at the moment which isn't a mousse but is great. Perhaps you could try something else from that brand if you know you liked it before?

I’m on the hunt too! Just started a thread on this topic “falling out of love with BM complexion rescue”. We can help eachother until we find our holy grail!

Estée Lauder daywear tinted moisturiser or CC cream are both light but amazing.

LordOfTheOnionRings · 25/08/2020 21:09

Glossier tintwr moisteriser I swear by. It is fantastic.

Calphurnia · 25/08/2020 21:11

Heliocare, it's spf50 too!

mnahmnah · 25/08/2020 21:12

No.7 city lite is great

bettyboo40 · 25/08/2020 21:14

I've been using this by Australian gold. I've got really big pores too and as I like to wear factor 50 everyday I was looking for one that was tinted so could replace me having to use a sunscreen and a foundation. I find it works well for coverage, and is not as heavy as my foundation.

I cant believe no one has recommended Aveda. It's difficult to find, and a little on the pricey side, but well worth it. Try it, OP! Goes on like a dream, fabulous coverage, no clogging of pores.

Pootle40 · 25/08/2020 21:27

I LOVE LOVE LOVE no 7 cc cream - only thing of it's kind that I've rebought multiple times.

ItsmineAllmine · 25/08/2020 21:30

It's not quite a tinted moisturiser but Trinny London's BFF cream is fab.

snappycamper · 25/08/2020 21:32

Have you tried the ordinary's sheer foundation? It's very thin and might do the trick.

snappycamper · 25/08/2020 21:33

Should say it's also cheap as chips, about a fiver so worth a try

spacehoppered · 25/08/2020 21:36

I'd like to add la Roche posay CC cream to a 'Do not try' list. It's awfully oily and makes my pores look 10x worse.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 25/08/2020 21:40

Laura mercier!!! Amazingly stuff

Agreed. I haven't liked anything I've tried from that range.
OxanaVorontsova · 25/08/2020 21:45

Laura Mercier (or the BP dupe) or Lumene invisible illumination which is just amazing, but not strictly a tinted moisturiser

wishywashywoowoo70 · 25/08/2020 21:45

The Nivea tinted moisturiser is nice
Using No 7 at the moment too which is lovely.

OohKittens · 25/08/2020 21:46

Marcelle golden glow illuminator is the best ever.

AreSchoolsBackYet · 25/08/2020 21:47

Heliocare gel oil free, it comes in 3 shades

ErinJ · 25/08/2020 21:50

I love Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint. Looks like your own skin but better Smile

Lampan · 25/08/2020 21:58

Have you tried Korean brands? Missha Porefection BB is very good.

Bubbletrouble43 · 25/08/2020 22:06

Combination oily skin here and prone to pores and I'm a big fan of no7 bb cream, I think it's fab.

nanbread · 25/08/2020 22:07

Have you tried Chantecaille? Insanely expensive but it didn't seem to settle in pores for me. I've only tried a sample as want to check shades in real life before buying but that's hard in lockdown
