What item of makeup really makes the difference to how you look?

For me it’s blusher. Without it I look like a hag. I usually apply it last but I feel it makes me look a lot better after I’ve applied it.

I rarely wear lipstick as I have no clue what colours suit me so if I do wear it I usually go for nude colours.

Mind you if I go out without eyeshadow/mascara people ask me if I’m tired

Maybe I just need a full face of slap......

What does it for you?

Oh god, it would be have to be foundation (and primer as it goes on much better with it and doesn’t go patchy) if I could only choose one but in reality it’s foolproof eyebrow Benefit stuff, highlighter, eyeliner AND eyeshadow on top of the foundation.

GroupSects · 25/08/2020 17:11

Sorry about the random ‘be’

Muser314 · 25/08/2020 17:11

Eyeliner

AriesTheRam · 25/08/2020 17:12

Eyeliner

larrythelizard · 25/08/2020 17:14

Eyebrows.

TipseyTorvey · 25/08/2020 17:15

I have 6. I apply them in under 3 minutes but I won't even stay at home without them on or I just feel miserable. Light foundation, powder, eyebrow wand, eyeliner (top and bottom), blush and lip gloss. I can do it without a mirror now with smalls screaming at me.

AnaViaSalamanca · 25/08/2020 17:18

eyeliner for me too. Concealer a close second

I wear very little makeup though - a bit of concealer, blusher, eyeliner and mascara. On good days I put on a tiny bit of eyeshadow and curl my lashes. I love makeup, but anything more makes me look "made-up" and weird. I can never wear lipstick either. Own a few but I am pale and with lipstick I look like a vampire.

BestIsWest · 25/08/2020 17:23

Eyeliner too. I don’t even wear very much, just a tiny smudge.

Then
Eyebrows
Mascara

Rarely use makeup but blusher also makes a huge difference. Even just blusher.

For lipstick you can try "frog prince" by Lipstick Queen. It changes colour with the pH of the lips (or something like that). But it's subtle, very moisturising and if it starts fading out it doesn't look bad.

doloresclaiborne · 25/08/2020 17:31

I’ve never mastered eyeliners, I usually use eyeshadow as eyeliner because if it goes wrong I can correct it. I’ve tried using liquid and pencil liners but I’ve got small eyes and those make them look even more piggy.

Grey12 - thanks for the tip on the lipstick, I’ll have a look at that.

Eyebrows - I don’t sharpie them on, just fill lightly with powder. Transformational. Just that and lipstick are what I wear most days, only bother with a full face for special occasions.

BikeTyson · 25/08/2020 17:35

Concealer for me as my skin is quite bad and I have dark circles round my eyes.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 25/08/2020 17:36

Either eyeliner or mascara (I tend to wear one or the other depending on how I'm feeling)

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 25/08/2020 17:38

YY to blusher and eyebrows! Blusher stops me looking like a member of the undead and brushing some gel through my eyebrows gives my face more definition. Though I think the biggest thing for me isn’t make up, but skincare. Especially in the winter I wake up with a really dull looking face and it only comes to life after I’ve done my skincare routine and put some moisture back into it Grin

CabernetSoWhat · 25/08/2020 17:41

Under eye concealer and mascara- totally transformative.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 25/08/2020 17:42

Not makeup, but micro-bladed brows have been an absolute game changer for me.

With them I just need power, eyeliner, mascara, bit of bronzer on cheeks and tinted lip balm.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 25/08/2020 17:46

My Primark foundation. It is just perfect for me after years of trials and errors. I like it better than a Chanel one I also have on the go.

SquirrelFan · 25/08/2020 17:58

Eyeliner, then lipstick.

Quackersandcheese3 · 25/08/2020 18:00

Foundation ! My skin is so dull.

PontiacBandit · 25/08/2020 18:01

Under eye concealer, I need it to hide the shadows

Halfling · 25/08/2020 18:03

Eyebrow pencil and blush

MeadowHay · 25/08/2020 18:04

Probs foundation for me tbh. My skin is terrible - patchy/red in places, dark circles, lots of acne scarring some of which still is red due to the lingering inflammation and then though it's mostly resolved I have always have a few little spots, blackheads etc. Sigh.

Saying that I'm obviously not too concerned as I probably wear it about once a month or less atm.

Yankathebear · 25/08/2020 18:05

Concealer. I hide my freckles and bags. and age

Puffinhead · 25/08/2020 18:12

I would love to look deathly pale but sadly I have very rosy cheeks which I hate. So for me it would have to be foundation.
