What item of makeup really makes the difference to how you look?

For me it’s blusher. Without it I look like a hag. I usually apply it last but I feel it makes me look a lot better after I’ve applied it.

I rarely wear lipstick as I have no clue what colours suit me so if I do wear it I usually go for nude colours.

Mind you if I go out without eyeshadow/mascara people ask me if I’m tired

Maybe I just need a full face of slap......

What does it for you?

Definitely blusher. I'm so pale I look dreadful without blusher. My favourite is Bobbi Brown pot rouge in powder pink.

viccat · 26/08/2020 17:12

I was going to say blusher too and also apply it last - it really changes the whole look from bland to alive. Grin

morefun · 26/08/2020 17:32

Liquid eyeliner literally between my upper lashes in little dots

Little highlighter, people always comment that I have a "natural" glow

CorvusPurpureus · 26/08/2020 18:18

Lipstick, dark maroon.

I only wear it on nights out but I've got black hair, pale grey eyes & am bluey pale, so it completely transforms me.

I'm a sad old goth though! Wink

Lndnmummy · 26/08/2020 18:39

@morefun which eyeliner do you use for this?

twilightcafe · 26/08/2020 18:50

The list has expanded over the years. Now it's eyebrows, eyeliner, mascara and a neutral lippie.

sweetbirdofjuice · 26/08/2020 18:52

mascara. Doll eyes waterproof by Lancome . and Bobbi Brown Intensive Serum foundation. I've tried to find cheaper but there's nowt like it. also eyebrows and a flick of eyeliner. its my eyes that need the enhancement

sweetbirdofjuice · 26/08/2020 18:53

Corvus you sound stunning! I so rarely have the balls to wear dark lippie even though I love it on others

peaceanddove · 26/08/2020 18:58

Bobbi Brown Colour Corrector under my eyes, it makes my inherited dark circles disappear.

Hourglass Ambient Powder in Dim Light. Oh. My. Dear. God. It looks like I'm wearing an air brush filter!

Bad Gal Bang mascara + Shu Uemura eyelash curlers = Bambi-esque fluttery lashes.

Mylifesadrama · 28/08/2020 18:12

All of mine makes a big difference to how I look. Bloody awful without any! lol.
Foundation, powder, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, mascara, blusher and lipstick. All applied in less than 3 minutes. If I could afford it, I’d have semi permanent.

Longpinknails · 28/08/2020 19:07

A full face of makeup for me always, but I agree, blusher is the key and eyeliner, both top and inner rim, a very close second. Hourglass blusher and all their powders are beautiful. I don’t look right without either of these as part of the overall final look. Wish I could apply all my makeup quickly, mine takes 20 mins and that’s fast for me.

Bobbi73 · 28/08/2020 20:27

BB cream always makes my skin look so much better, so if I had to pick one, it would be that.. However, I recently had my colours done and now I have a peachy blusher and lippy, soft teal eyeliner and brown mascara. The whole effect is very low key but somehow better. I don't like to look ' made up' but I do like a little make up sometimes.

MondeoFan · 28/08/2020 20:32

Black eyeliner
Without it my eyes look really really small and people have commented that I look tired without it on

homemadecommunistrussia · 28/08/2020 20:40

Concealer for dark circles. I have worn some nearly every day since I was about 12!

homemadecommunistrussia · 28/08/2020 20:46

That frog stuff looks like this £5 job from Barry m

DefinatelyAWeeGobshite · 28/08/2020 21:01

Mascara for me! I sometimes just do only mascara if I’m just pottering about the house

AuntyPasta · 28/08/2020 22:08

The Barry M stuff is a straight knock off.

Unicorn = Morning Sunshine
Genie = Frog Prince
Neptune = Hello Sailor

homemadecommunistrussia · 28/08/2020 22:16

Barry m have been making the genie one for years, I think they were probably first.

BakewellGin1 · 28/08/2020 22:20

Mascara and Eyebrow Tint

Oh and I love Benefit blushers

Before I would have said foundation but since lockdown i started using Body Shop Products when a friend was selling them...

Tea Tree Overnight Mask
Vitamin E Mask
Drops of Youth
Bouncy Eye Gel

And at the moment I don't need foundation or concealer as my skin has cleared up and looks more hydrated and smooth

polexiaaphrodesia · 28/08/2020 22:34

Bronzer 100%. Look like a zombie without it. When I had DS I was subject to a load of extra blood tests for iron levels etc in hospital after his birth as I looked "a bit pale"..nope, that's just my normal colour!

Ginfordinner · 28/08/2020 22:39

Lipstick. Although, I rarely wear it now because of having to wear face masks.

I have dark eyes, dark eyelashes and dark brows, plus I wear glasses so eye make up is a bit of a waste of effort on me.

managedmis · 28/08/2020 23:08

Mascara. I have tiny eyes and pale lashes.

Mummymason13 · 28/08/2020 23:59

Mummymason13 · 29/08/2020 00:00

Pegasus1983 · 29/08/2020 08:45
