Princessing thread, (but not), capsule wardrobe and general self improvement

Would anyone be up for a sort of princessing thread, but not just to do with appearance, if that makes sense?

I'm doing a 'new (school) year, new me', type thing and wondered if anyone wants to join me.

My plan is to be healthier; better diet, more exercise, more water, early nights etc etc. I am not interested in weight loss for this thread, as there is a whole weight loss board, which is chock full of useful threads.

I'm also trying to cultivate a minimalist / capsule wardrobe and want to then try the same approach with the rest of my house.

I'm trying to spend less time on the internet and mindless tv, more time reading decent books and watching good movies, which actually give me something to talk about, not reality things like Judge Judy, which are my secret shame Blush.

Anyone up for joining me?

Capsule wardrobe project is in full swing here and I've read some wonderful books recently. Planning to cut alcohol to less than 5 units per week, not that I drink an awful lot, but still. More fruit, veg, water and some walking and weights for exercise.

I'm also doing more skincare. Baby oil (I've tried fancier ones and this is the best for me) after showers, serums and double cleansing morning and evening.

I expect to be looking better by October and positively glowing by Christmas Grin!

I've started doing the tiny steps protocol. This is where you make changes by setting yourself the absolute minimum every day, so read more books is "read a page of a book a day", doing weights is "do 5 squats a day". Basically, the requirement is so small, it is impossible not to do it. And, if course, you always end up doing a bit more once you've started.

I've found it a very successful method.

Oh that's very clever! What a good idea.

I’ve started a thread over in Chat inspired by Princessing but more of a general overhaul. It’s 100 days from tomorrow till 1st December. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4000925-Anyone-fancy-a-bit-of-an-overhaul-before-Christmas-thread

Oh thanks @Helgathehairy! I checked on here to see if anything similar running, but didn't think to check Chat. Shall scoot on over Smile.
