What shower gels are you loving at the moment?

I love the Body Shop shower gels but not buying anything from them for JK Rowling related reasons. Please could you share which shower gels you currently love? I have dry skin that's not sensitive, and love a strong scent, not hugely bothered whether that's fruity / floral / spicy/ whatever. Ta!

@Helocariad

Another vote for Faith in Nature. Their lavender soap is beautiful and so is their tea tree range.
Another vote from me too. Ethical too!
diplodocusinermine · 01/08/2020 08:41

Lottapianos, I use a pair of 'scrubby gloves'.

Woodendollymix · 01/08/2020 08:43

Molton Brown, Black pepper soap lasts for ages, I use it with a natural sponge.

Shame they only do the one proper soap though, have stopped buying the body wash as they have changed the consistency and the fragrance does not last as long as in the past

BlenheimOrange · 01/08/2020 08:51

One ‘pro’ of going back to the office will be passing the Lush shop near work so I can get lovely shower gel again! I have a faith in nature one atm but it’s not the same.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses my understanding is that shower gel isn’t anti bacterial (unlike liquid soap) so it might not be ideal for hand washing after the loo etc.

unicornparty · 01/08/2020 08:53

Definitely soap now. I feel so much cleaner with soap than shower gel.

Loccitane has 20% off online this weekend

summersolstice43 · 01/08/2020 09:16

@lotusbell oh thanks for letting me know, I'll go stock up now.

Extracurricularfatigue · 01/08/2020 09:35

@Woodendollymix thank you, but can’t use TK Maxx!

@BoreOfWhabylon thanks, I’ll check out L’Occitane. Sadly lavender of any variety makes me boak.

We've recently been using really old fashioned Imperial Leather bar soap and my skin is so much happier, even my face. It's been a bit of a revelation.

burnoutbabe · 01/08/2020 10:03

Imperial leather shower foams.
Love the marshmallow one!

Sakura7 · 01/08/2020 10:05

@Lottapianos I tend to use a shower puff, just wet it and rub the soap on. It gives lots of lather. I think hands are fine day to day, but you need a puff or gloves to exfoliate.

LadyEloise · 01/08/2020 10:20

L'occitane Almond shower oil.
It's a pity it's so expensive.
I wish someone would do a dupe.

LadyEloise · 01/08/2020 10:25

@VictoriaBun
I asked the very same question some years back - I've namechanged.
No it doesn't make the shower slippy.
The shower I use is over/ in the bath and it's fine.

YgritteSnow · 01/08/2020 10:31

Bath and Body works shower gels are my favourite. I usually stock up when I go to the US or UAE but can also get them on eBay too though more expensive. That said, in comparison to brands such as Molton Brown or L'occitane they're still reasonably priced and just as good quality. I like Sea Island Cotton scent the best and White Citrus too.

LBB2020 · 01/08/2020 13:34

Lush Olive Branch smells amazing

WelshMoth · 01/08/2020 19:29

I'm getting an immense amount of pleasure with my 65p Lacura shower gel at the moment - jasmine and cotton I think the fragrance is called. It smells like the soapy clean original
Dove did years back before they changed. I love it. Soapy clean and fresh fragrance.

Skyliner001 · 01/08/2020 19:32

Second Lush. Second go to after Body Shop 😊 Faith in Nature probably third

KatieGilbert · 01/08/2020 19:33

I wish I could find a SLS free budget option as I don't want to pour money down the drain.

SpeedofaSloth · 01/08/2020 20:32

Lacura products are often really good IMHO.

IveSeenThings · 01/08/2020 20:57

KatieGilbert is SLES the same as SLS?

There are a few people here who've mentioned Nivea products. I only learned this week, but Nivea are homophobic. During a discussion with their advertising company, they said they "don't do gay" in response to an advert pitch.

Just sharing in case anyone else hadn't heard this and no longer wished to support them.

Grim.

Not sure where they stand on testing either, that's why I love the body shop 😊😊

MrBennsshop · 02/08/2020 21:17

I don't know anyone who buys from the Body Shop following their disgraceful treatment of JKR on Twitter. They can hardly be help up as a paragon of virtue.

Ginfordinner · 02/08/2020 21:51

Loads of people won't know or won't care.
