Anyone stopped wearing Perfume?

Since Lockdown I've stopped and don't miss it. If I eventually use up my stock when I'm back in the office...I doubt I'll buy another bottle...

I put some on for a Zoom call with my friends. It made DH laugh. I haven’t been wearing as much but I often put some on round the house- I wear it for me really, because I like the smell. Although having said that I put some Eau d’Issey on the other day and DS said “that smell reminds me of the car. Because you always wear it when we are in the car.”

Ginfordinner · 28/07/2020 22:12

I haven't worn perfume or make up since March.

Goingdownto · 28/07/2020 22:14

Like pp I put some on for Zoom, as I would have when I met those people in RL! I really don't think I want to start with a full face of make up again every day when I'm back in work. Bit of eyeliner maybe. It adds so much time to the morning.

Yesterdayforgotten · 28/07/2020 22:14

I hadn't worn it as much I have to admit but have been wearing it again more lately. I like to put it on for me too similar to the pp above. I still want a nice bottle for Christmas as it isn't something i buy for myself. After my bath dh tells me the bedroom smells like a spa but I guess there are worse things it could smell of 😂...

During periods of heightened anxiety ( ie now) I find I can't wear perfume.
I kind of get sensory overload and feel suffocated even by my favourite scents.
Scent was definitely my 'thing' when I was younger but now I'm not so bothered.

notheragain4 · 28/07/2020 22:15

I'm not wearing make up atm but I am still putting on perfume, tbh I put perfume on for me rather than anyone else, I love the smell of it. I wear it even if I'm having sweat pants day!

Yesterdayforgotten · 28/07/2020 22:16

I've dropped mascara though and I used to not be able to leave the house without it so a massive change for me. I now would feel weird with it on and can't imagine wearing it unless a very special occasion...

ParkheadParadise · 28/07/2020 22:20

Not me🤣
I love perfume. I wear it all the time, even on jammy days.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/07/2020 22:24

Stopped ages ago, most of it’s tested on animals.

Stella McCartneys isn’t but that’s the only one I can think of.

Oly4 · 28/07/2020 22:26

Not bothering with make up but still putting perfume on as love it on me

jeremypaxo · 28/07/2020 22:28

If anything I'm wearing it more. I find it a real pick-me-up, and god knows I need those at the moment. A little mid-morning or mid-afternoon spray perks me right up!

polkadotpjs · 28/07/2020 22:46

I had stopped but have just discovered Vaara again in a penhaligons coffret. Nearly all gone reminding me it's my favourite. I want some but it's a bit pricey for me currently so if anyone knows a lower cost source or voucher...send my way
I keep catching a whiff and reminds me I love perfume

OhTheRoses · 28/07/2020 22:55

No and I 'm sad there are no testers in the shops. Just before Lockdownn I happened across Panthere by Cartier and would like another spray before I buy it

JaceLancs · 28/07/2020 23:10

I haven’t changed my habits at all
Wear perfume every day even if in house on my own as it cheers me up

rubabayaga · 29/07/2020 01:28

No, not really - makeup has trailed off to pretty much nothing, but I still love putting on perfume. It still brings me great pleasure to smell delicious.

Hairthrowaway · 29/07/2020 01:32

I still do, it’s part of my normal morning routine. I have a large perfume collection so I’m not worried about wasting a favourite.

NiceGerbil · 29/07/2020 01:34

Stopped wearing perfume, bra, doing hair, makeup, wearing anything except comfy stuff.

I used to enjoy the process of getting into work clothes. It did feel like a costume but a fun one.

I kind of miss it tbh.

See, I feel like my mood would drop if I did this. I need a bit of routine/normality
ladybirdsarelovely33 · 29/07/2020 01:39

Definitely stopped wearing perfume and now that we can meet up SD in parks and gardens, I don't want to attract and biting insects.

NiceGerbil · 29/07/2020 01:42

I think at the moment, hair, we all need to do what we need to do to keep ok.

I really miss going into work and the whole process around 'getting ready'.

I was way more glam than I am when left to own devices.

NiceGerbil · 29/07/2020 01:43

And I enjoyed it, I should add.
Precisely because it's not my default.

greenlynx · 29/07/2020 01:46

I never wear perfume at home, could do a bit of make up for a special occasion but that’s about it. I put make up for some Zoom calls, sometimes for walks and recently for days out but not perfume.

I'm the same. It's like turning the background music off to concentrate on understanding something new and complex . (My mum turns the radio off to parallel park.)
SarBear1980 · 29/07/2020 07:23

@Fluffycloudland77 I stopped ages ago for the same reason but have found that M&S have a lovely range that is cruelty free and just started with that again. It’s light and fresh and suits me for day to day wear.

Richlyfruited · 29/07/2020 08:09

Perfume is the most important thing I put on every day Grin I'm not bothering at all about clothes but always perfume!

Agree with a pp that the lack of testers in shops has been frustrating. I totally understand why they've taken them all away but am craving a mooch around the perfume aisles!
