Thoughts on this jumpsuit on me?

At the grand age of 33, I have bought my first ever jumpsuit. I kind of love it but I'm not actually sure it looks good/ok on me - thoughts, wise mumsnetters? Be gentle but honest!

Ps. Apologies for mess in background - we've just moved house!

I like the shape and think it looks fine.
Where are you going to wear it?
I'm not sure about the fussy print. Sorry.

Hardbackwriter · 23/07/2020 11:29

I bought it for a picnic with friends last weekend - not something I'd normally buy a new outfit for but it's the first new clothing item I've bought since lockdown so I treated myself! I can see how the print is marmitey, though I really like it.

You like it, so wear it and enjoy it!

PurpleDaisies · 23/07/2020 11:34

It looks lovely.

elaeocarpus · 23/07/2020 11:35

I think it fits you well; but the pattern is not flattering.

cosmo30 · 23/07/2020 11:35

I think it's lovely, i do like jumpsuits though! What do you plan on wearing on your feet with it? White converse pumps might look nice?

yomommasmomma · 23/07/2020 11:36

I love it and the print, you look lovely. My only suggestion would be to forget the black vest underneath and either embrace the cleavage with some tape to stick everything down or see it together a bit. I think the black vest underneath takes away from the overall look.

Bluntness100 · 23/07/2020 11:37

I think the fit is fine but the print is too busy for me too. Reminds me a bit of Those busy cleaning tabard aprons you get. Sorry op.

The black vest is my (not very sexy) bra! I know what you mean but I think it's just too plunging to live with (and I'm 10 weeks pregnant so not currently amenable to either shoving my boobs into a push up bra or going braless) - I could try and see whether I could pin it so it doesn't come down so low

I think the shape looks lovely on you,

I agree the print isnt the most flattering.

I would also loose the black vest top if i were you.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/07/2020 11:48

I think the black vest/bra looks fine.

Personally, I think it would look better rolled up a bit.

Todaywewilldobetter · 23/07/2020 11:49

Very envious! I wish I could wear one!
I think its lovely.

PMTRex · 23/07/2020 11:52

Love the shape and fit but I think it would be nicer in a plan fabric - navy would be lovely.

Hardbackwriter · 23/07/2020 11:54

Ok, so the concept of a jumpsuit is broadly approved, the print is not! Does anyone have any suggestions for a plainer one? Quite restrictively, it absolutely has to be from a tall range (this one is ASOS tall) - one of the reasons that this is my first jumpsuit is that I've never tried one on before that was even close to long enough for my body.

You obviously liked the print enough to buy it, so I personally think you should keep it. Prints aren’t for everyone but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear it!

I think you look great.

1forAll74 · 23/07/2020 12:18

It looks nice on you, and you obviously like patterns,as you chose it.
I was thinking of getting a jumpsuit, but want a strappy one in a plain colour, as easier to handle when loo visiting.

junebug87 · 23/07/2020 12:19

I love it and you look great in it.

TheSunIsStillShining · 23/07/2020 12:21

I personally think it's terrible in itself, but if you feel good in it then go for it! I'm sure if you'd see my wardrobe choices you'd be the same.
There's an objective level to "never wear this in public" - this is very far from it :)

Lolalovesroses · 23/07/2020 12:23

I'm 5ft 8 and got 2 lovely jumpsuits from Monsoon. They are very generous in the leg length.

HalfTermHalfTerm · 23/07/2020 12:25

I really like it, and I think it suits you. I agree it would look better without the black ‘bit’, but it doesn’t look bad with it so I’d stick with it if it makes you more comfortable.

I also happen to love the print (it’s summer! Florals are compulsory in the summer!), but I don’t think that’s hugely relevant. You obviously like the print or you wouldn’t have bought it!

Newbiehere123 · 23/07/2020 12:28

I think it's nice and suits your figure. I'm guessing you won't be wearing the black top inside?

missyB1 · 23/07/2020 12:28

Love it (including the print), it really suits you. It's nice to have a bit of colour and pattern at this time of year.

razey · 23/07/2020 12:33

I love it
It's very flattering and summery and you look fab so I think you should wear it and know you look great

DoraemonDingDong · 23/07/2020 12:33

I like the print, and I think you look great in it.

And congratulations on the pregnancy Flowers - wear whatever you want before your wardrobe choices become dictated by the bump (or sticky fingered toddlers!)

Thank you! It's no. 2 so I'm already covered with snot/food/general suspicious grime most of the time, which might explain why I like a busy pattern, in the hope I hide it!
