Can anyone recommend the HG of tinted moisturiser please?

I wear Estée Lauder double wear and I'm really pleased with it. But I'm looking for something lighter for those days where I don't want full make up but want to even up my skin tone. But I want something that won't break me out or slip off my face within minutes of the sun appearing. I'm also quite pale so it would need to be something with a decent shade range or that adapts well.
I might be asking for too much here 🙈
Do you have any recommendations please?

@Very, changes colour after you’ve been wearing it a while as it reacts with the oils in your skin. Often turns more orange.

Ah! Thanks. Didn’t know that Smile

I have been lusting after the Trinny BFF for ages as I had heard good things. It's more than I would usually spend but thought I would treat myself. It arrived yesterday and I am so disappointed. There's no noticeable coverage - it hasn't evened out my skin tone at all. It is also the strongest smelling makeup I have ever applied - I can really smell it on my face constantly. My eyes have really started watering since wearing it, so I think the smell might actually have triggered an allergic reaction! Feel so cross with myself for not just sticking with a cheaper alternative. 🙁

She really went big on the social media advertising, so I’m not surprised you were sucked in, @IJustWantToWearDungarees.

Avoid Laura Mercier like the plague. They have recently changed the formula - there have been a few threads about it on here recently.

I wore it for years until they fucked about with it and it started oxidising and sitting in every. single. pore.

I discovered Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue after a recommendation on here and haven't looked back; it's amazing stuff. I throw it on with a slightly damp beauty blender and the difference it makes to my skin is incredible. Lasts all day and doesn't go orange.

NARS!!!!!

BeaLola · 24/07/2020 00:24

Going against the grain here but I really love Chanel Les Beiges tinted moisturiser - Im pretty pale but can tan - I like the lightness of it & it suits my skin. I have also used Bobbi Brown & like their sheer foundation or the balm. I wanted to like the NARS one I bought from Space NK but it wasn;t as good as the Chanel.

That video is amazing @MehMehMeow - sooo useful for making an informed choice. Are there any UK Youtubers who have done similar that anyone would recommend? I just found that some of the products she talks about don't seem to be available here.

Following! I use La Roche Posay Effaclar tinted moisturiser at the moment, it’s ok but has no SPF. Really need something with an SPF especially as I get melasma. I will look up the ones mentioned here, NARS and Bare Minerals sound promising. Never heard of Eborian but will have a look.

Missha perfect cover BB Cream is great. It's Korean and they have really good shades for us pale faces! Shades 13 and 21 are the palest, but you can Google for swatches that compare the shades.

The Aldi BB cream is also good, but even the 'light' shade is a tiny bit too dark for me.

justilou1 · 25/07/2020 02:04

There’s a HUGE drop in coverage between DW and a tinted moisturiser! I think you would love the iT Cosmetics CC cream. Try the original formulation and the illuminating one and see which you prefer. You can sheer them out with your moisturiser if you want less coverage, or build them up. (Also fabulous staying power and definitely don’t cause skin issues. Everyone I have suggested this to has raved about this product.) Maybe buy a mini size and see if you like it before you commit. *Added benefit is that it has pretty decent spf, but wouldn’t recommend relying solely on that alone for sun protection.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 25/07/2020 02:32

I didn’t like the LM one
The Nars one is better but in reality I don’t think you should be looking for a TM as you will be going from full coverage to minimal.
I think a light to medium coverage foundation would suit you better
The It Cosmetics Cc would be nice if you can find your shade as the range is pretty poor
Other ones I think you’ll like are Fenty Soft Matte and it comes in a lot of shades
Nars Luminous or the sheer glow depending on finish/ coverage
Too Faced Born This Is Way
NYX Born to Glow

That's really helpful! Thank you-I'll look into those and they are definitely very good points. 😊

@Tartyflette

I'd like to try the IT cosmetics CC+ cream but i only like a very light tinted moisturiser or BB/CC cream and the blurb on the website says it's a Full Coverage foundation -- can anyone tell me just how light it is, or isn't, before i shell out 32 quid on it?
I just bought it. Goes on really nicely. Coverage is the lighter edge of medium.

I think I'd buy it again when tanned in a darker shade.

breadcakebiscuits · 25/07/2020 20:37

I bought Nars after seeing loads of recommendations here and I really love the finish, but it’s got no staying power at all.

TawnyPippit · 25/07/2020 20:42

I was about to burst in with a REVELATION - Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue - but everyone got there before me. It really is very good - that “what you wish your skin looked like” effect.

isabellerossignol · 25/07/2020 21:14

I have a long history of finding tinted moisturiser and BB creams to be too greasy and too orange on my very pale skin. The best tinted moisturiser I have ever tried, by some considerable distance, is from Primark! And when it comes to foundation, I'm usually more of an Estee Lauder or Charlotte Tilbury type.

Howaboutthisone · 13/08/2020 16:01

Well I tried the IT cosmetics but I'm not sure. Maybe I used too much but I can see what people meant about it being quite thick. I also wasn't sure of the lasting power-it felt a bit like DW but without the longevity rather than just evening out my skin tone and staying put. Hmmm will look into some of the other suggestions.
Thanks 😊
