Returning clothes to Next. I need some help?

Apolloanddaphne · 21/07/2020 08:41

I ordered a couple of items of clothing from Next. One item needs to be returned. I booked a courier slot then went to sort the parcel. There does not appear to be a returns slip to put inside the parcel. Is this right?

I have a label to stick on the parcel and above that was customer information but there does not seem to be anywhere on that to fill in my returns. Should I have a separate slip to go in the bag?

Thanks

Yes that's fine, just the sticky label.

Apolloanddaphne · 21/07/2020 08:44

So nothing else goes in the bag to say what I am returning?

Sticky label is fine, but make sure you get proof of pick up by myhermes so you can track the return and just incase! My mom forgot last time and they didn’t automatically leave one.

Apolloanddaphne · 21/07/2020 08:50

Ok. Thanks. It just seems so odd. I don't think I will order from them again. I would rather take parcels to the PO in my own time rather than have them collected. Our nearest store is too far away for that to be easier for returns.

I don’t think they bother with the paper inside now. Just make sure u get the pick up doc

TumbledGlass · 21/07/2020 08:51

Each individual tag on the item has a unique code printed on it. So if you were to return direct to a store they just scan the tag, nothing else needed.

TumbledGlass · 21/07/2020 08:52

Do you not have a Hermes pick up point nearby?

Apolloanddaphne · 21/07/2020 08:54

@TumbledGlass I have no idea. That wasn't offered on the website, just the courier. I live in the Scottish countryside. We don't have a lot around here!

Well I went on to the Hermes site and there is a pick up point nearby. Very weirdly at an indoor golf centre! Can I just cancel the pick up and take it there?

It's fine OP. I think it's great as I'd rather not go in the tiny PO down the road at the moment.
I wasn't given a slip last time (I left mine outside as I thought I had read to do that...but won't again). I panicked but got an email to say they had received it. The previous time the Hermes pick up posted a slip through the door but it was blank Hmm. So definitely make them knock for it and ask for a slip.

You only fill in the slip if it's faulty. There is a tiny part to the sticker you stick in the bag.

user1471530109 · 21/07/2020 08:58

*on the bag!

TumbledGlass · 21/07/2020 08:59

I don't see why not.

mnahmnah · 21/07/2020 09:00

I do it all the time. Always gets back to Next and my account credited correctly

Apolloanddaphne · 21/07/2020 09:00

I will just let it be picked up. I cannot see how to cancel it. It is too stressy. No more ordering from Next from me.

If you phone Next they're generally really helpful. If there's a queue when you phone they will offer to call you back within a specified time.

Kaykay066 · 21/07/2020 09:02

I returned stuff twice recently and I just stick the sticker on the bag and off it goes was refunded no probs although it does take over a week - I'm Stirlingshire but you don’t need to put anything inside - instructions online need updating. Costs £2 and if you’ve already booked the return I’d just let them pick it up but agreed it’s a faff

Summer41 · 21/07/2020 09:04

If you're worried, get a piece of paper, write your order details on it plus your name, address, telephone number and reason for return and place it in your bag with the order.

Unfollowtherules · 21/07/2020 09:04

I’ve not had proof of pick up at the time and I’ve returned several things recently. I have had an email though.

Apolloanddaphne · 21/07/2020 09:08

It's all packaged up and in the garage where I said to collect it from in case I am not in. I will see what happens. The item was not super expensive so if it all goes wrong it won't be a huge issue.

Snap. I order lots of stuff from my son from Next and used to take it back to our local branch which has shut down. I was confused when returning but I think the barcode has info but there was nowhere to say which bits you were returning. The instructions are really unclear.

winterisstillcoming · 21/07/2020 09:16

The barcode thing is really clever. You don't need a receipt when returning to store either. I ta hun x ink M&S do it too.

winterisstillcoming · 21/07/2020 09:16

Sorry. *i think

Bioprepper · 21/07/2020 11:39

yes you can drop off at local collection points when ever you like if you have one near. just go in scan and done. Just like taking to the post office. Dont let it put you off ordering again :)

mummyh2016 · 21/07/2020 11:41

Just to let you know they charge for returns if you're getting it collected, they'll deduct it off your refund.

DieSchottin93 · 21/07/2020 12:53

Returning stuff from Next is a bit of a faff tbh, plus I'm surprised a store as them doesn't let you do exchanges. I try to avoid ordering from them now.
