They really are beautiful. If I could bring myself to spend £200 on 4 of them at full price I would. In the meantime, fingers crossed a few more come back toJL..!

Laska2Meryls · 29/07/2020 12:47

Ha ha look like I will be fighting you then !! I will go for L or xl though.. am going to dye my white one stone anyway .. Wink

ilovecherries · 29/07/2020 12:55

Haven’t been here much in the last few days, have been attempting to hustle some life back into my consultancy business. But have been wearing Toast every day. Today I’m wearing the tapered linen trousers in bone/parchment/beige/cream with an oversized navy poplin kimono shirt from CoS. Have worn the trousers 7/8 times already, wish I’d nabbed them in other colours as they are lovely.

This just arrived

www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+bags+and+belts/fbpad/bleu+de+chauffe+bijou+bag.htm?clr=FBPAD_Noir_sw

Ridiculously expensive but it’s absolutely gorgeous, will keep my card and phone close to hand, love it.

Alsohuman · 29/07/2020 13:12

My bleu de chauffe bag has been shipped from France and I’m eagerly awaiting its arrival - even more now! That’s a lovely bag slippery. It will last forever.

slipperyeel · 29/07/2020 13:19

The leather is beautiful @alsohuman and it has a little label telling me that Heloise made my bag by hand

Moominmammaatsea · 29/07/2020 13:19

@slipperyeel, that bag is cut sitting in my Toast basket (I have a Bleu de Chauffe mini-satchel & it’s lovely but I want to be even more minimalist.) Would it fit a small purse as well as an iPhone, plus fabric masks & a lipstick?

slipperyeel · 29/07/2020 13:33

It concertinas does would fit easily I think

Moominmammaatsea · 29/07/2020 13:49

Thanks, slipperyeel, think I’m going to go for it!

faustina · 29/07/2020 15:39

@Alsohuman - which bag did you order?

That little one in the pic looks lovely. @Moominmammaatsea did your satchel come with a little canvas pouch thing? I use mine in all my other bags too - it's so useful!

faustina · 29/07/2020 15:42

@ilovecherries are they the Alix trousers? I have only taken mine off because I threw a cup of coffee over them last night Smile

Alsohuman · 29/07/2020 16:07

This is the one I ordered @faustina. I’ve got a steel blue Mulberry Tessie satchel which I use all the time and was considering buying a black one for the winter but this is almost identical and a fraction of the price. I can’t wait for it to get here.

ilovecherries · 29/07/2020 16:09

No, they are tapered with a pleated front and a zip. I think JL just called them ‘tapered canvas trousers’. I love them.

Oh gosh so I have been looking at the BDC website. You may remember I purchased the black KS belt bag earlier this month. I loved it but I have not used it yet and figured a new bag I could wear crossbody would be more practical and get more wear. I was thinking a belt bag at festivals would be perfect but sadly no festivals imminent. So, I have returned it and ordered this. I love this thread and hearing about your purchases. www.bleu-de-chauffe.com/en/women/708-louis-satchel-bag-peat.html

faustina · 29/07/2020 16:33

@Alsohuman I think mine is the slightly bigger version of yours - I got it last autumn so haven't really had much opportunity to use it yet but I love it

@dotty - I love that one too! Toast used to sell them and I tried it when I was choosing my bag. the leather they use is such good quality

It’s really exciting to have found a brand I hadn’t heard of. I think it was @Moominmammaatsea who mentioned it first on this thread.

It was only when I retired that I discovered the joys of cross body bags, I always needed something that would take A4 files and a laptop before that. I love the freedom of no hands.

Moominmammaatsea · 29/07/2020 19:36

@faustina, I always reuse fabric shoe (and bag) bags for the little one’s collection of duplo, Lego and Playmobil people. I find them easier on the eye than plastic storage boxes!

@Dotty, that’s the very bag I have and I think it’s the best bag I have ever owned (better even than my Mulberry Anthony Messenger and my Cambridge Satchel mini satchels). It’s got better as it’s aged, it’s so versatile and looks (IMO) stealthily stylish rather than showy (looking at you Mulberry Anthony) and it’s like the tardis inside! It is fairly expensive but the quality is magnificent and you absolutely know it will last for years and years.

@Alsohuman, I’ve loved these three threads for reading about new and different brands and labels, particularly those that have a heritage and an interesting back-story.

Alsohuman · 29/07/2020 19:56

I agree with you about Mulberry. It used to whisper, it’s got really a bit garish lately with the gold logo on the outside. I’m absolutely delighted to have a really good quality, unshowy bag. I just wish the bloody thing would show up!

ToastCosILoveIt · 29/07/2020 20:19

I have had a trip to Toast in Hampstead. The new collection is in and I was on a mission to buy www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+dresses+and+tunics/c1pcb/shari+floral+print+shirt+dress.htm?clr=C1PCB_Spruce_sw. it does not disappoint: beautiful colours and it draps in the most flattering way.

I also picked up a much sought after pair of slate Alix in a 12 which have sold out online. I have the desert pair coming from JL for the considerably cheaper price but the slate pair are impossible to get on JL.

I have now created a wish list and will hold out for the 20% off which i hope will come and will allow me to finish off my autumn/winter purchases. Some of the lime and thistle knitwear was in the shop and they were sublime. Toast is looking good for 2020/21.

I would really love the indigo pleat japanese trousers but only 8s and 10s left now. Also eyeing up these www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+trousers/c4pce/soft+cotton+twill+trousers.htm?clr=C4PCE_BlueGreen_sw I didn't see them in store today although I was in and out very quickly with the dress and the Alix: no trying on of course or I would have been ploughing through the new collection for size and fit and compiling a wishlist. I was served and advised by a very helpful gentleman who certainly knew the stock.

Really enjoying this thread. I posted on the first one with my trip down Toast memory lane and I am so enjoying reading everyone's posts. It is so lovely to luxuriate in a thread with fellow Toast lovers who are able to appreciate the cut and the quality: thank you x

Saurus72 · 29/07/2020 20:23

Ah @ToastCosILoveIt I love that dress, really beautiful and fabulous colours. Brilliant when something is as good as you hope it will be. Do they still have sale items in Toast stores or has it all gone?

ToastCosILoveIt · 29/07/2020 20:33

Saurus, every bit of the sale stuff had gone off the shop floor (I did ask). It was full of autumnal clothes and all looking lush.

AFingerofFudge · 29/07/2020 20:46

So - an unexpected surprise tomorrow! We live in the south west and this week I'm on annual leave and we were supposed to be going to Paris but alas we're not so we've decided to spend the day at the beach- and whilst looking at the map to work out where to go I noticed it's not too far from Kilver Court which has a Toast outlet. So I have persuaded DH, who hates shopping, to do a 40 minute detour on our return and call by!! I am so excited!!! Will post back with finds, interesting info etc!!

Saurus72 · 29/07/2020 21:11

Oh yes please report back! Hoping to go within the next few weeks. Have a lovely time 😊

AuldFox · 29/07/2020 22:38

Ooh I shall be logging back here for your update afingeroffudge

faustina · 30/07/2020 05:11
