My indigo V dress is still in Swansea so I suspect RM is being overly optimistic that it will be delivered today. I’m head to toe Toast - bone linen jumper and cotton/cashmere Alix. I’m going to put the workwear jacket on when I go out. Looking at the photo though, think the trousers probably are a bit big. A 10 gets jammed underneath my backside and no amount of wriggling will get them on, but the 12 is a bit baggy. Might be better rolled but this fabric is too soft to stay up, so it may need a few stitches

I think rolling them up would make all the difference cherries. That’s a good outfit.

Having never heard of bleu de chauffe, I’ve just fallen in love and bought myself a black mini postman bag as a birthday present to myself. Thank you @Moominmammaatsea.

Alsohuman · 25/07/2020 14:06

Bugger too many myselfs!

faustina · 25/07/2020 14:23

Bleu de chauffe do great bags. I have the postman one but I bought it direct from bleu de chauffe. Have a look at their website- I think they have a sale on

Saurus72 · 25/07/2020 14:46

I hope your indigo v-neck dress works for you @ilovecherries. Mine just arrived and it’s going straight back - the shoulders were ridiculously wide on me which is weird because I’m pretty much an hour glass so not small shoulders.

Anyhoo, I’m finally done with the sale shopping - Toast and otherwise. I popped to my local JL this morning hoping to find some more cheap cashmere but no joy. They made it all very sensible inside, but it’s such a desolate and joyless experience now 😕. The face mask really adds to the ‘get me out of here now’ feeling too.

I have a couple of work bits on their way from Jigsaw which I really hope are good because they’re a v good price and generally I find Jigsaw is brilliant for work - good quality, easy to wear and stands up to repeated wear/wash.

Also re: JL. I walked through the beauty hall on the way out and tbh, I know they want people in the store but I just can’t imagine buying from a beauty counter atm. Obviously no testers, just cardboard pictures of things. Just bizarre and quite post-apocalyptic feeling.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/07/2020 15:30

@Saurus72 - Strangely the denim dress [indigo v neck] really works for me. I wasn't fussed for it in the black but the dark denim is just perfect. Not too wide on the shoulders. The black one was very neat on the ribs and did stick out a bit at the shoulders. I am pear shaped so it balances things out for me i think.

ilovecherries · 25/07/2020 15:40

saurus, I know what you mean. I haven’t been in a shop for 4 months because of shielding but had to collect prescriptions yesterday. Big boots, lots of posh brands that you need to pass to get to the chemist. I used to love it in there. Embarrassingly, my eyes just filled with tears and I ended up snotting behind my mask. Not because I was afraid, but just at the absolute sadness and grimness of it all. The pharmacist actually asked me if I was ok. While I know it’s ridiculous, it wasn’t about the lipstick, it was about what it all represented.

I agree, going to the shops is really not pleasurable atm due to wearing a mask. Also i find it hard just to nip into shop. Its important that we do it though and hopefully wont last forever :)

neveradullmoment99 · 25/07/2020 15:47

I never wore lipstick anyway but i know many do. Also read that those that wear foundation are finding it rubbing off. Sales must seriously be down in lipstick though. Wearing a mask makes wearing nice things rather pointless in a way.
I did see on asos they were selling a mask with matching scuncie and another accessory, cant remember what it was. It doesnt matter. It all looks horrible imo.

neveradullmoment99 · 25/07/2020 15:48

The only good thing about a mask is that when you feel like it, you can hide in a way!

Saurus72 · 25/07/2020 15:50

@neveradullmoment99 it does seem to be a dress that is completely brilliant/terribly depending n your body shape. Glad I tried it to shut my brain up about it though, had looked at it for months. I’ve added a Toast denim dress onto my A/W wish list though 😉.

@ilovecherries yes, agree a very emotional experience. I looked at the shop assistants behind the counters, all wearing those big see-through plastic face shields and I just had a really ‘winded’ feeling. It was pretty desperate in there.

ilovecherries · 25/07/2020 15:52

The mask itself doesn’t bother me, wore one for years at work, and it’s a bit like riding a bike! It was the experience of being in a shop, with all the non-essentials stripped away that I found sad.

ilovecherries · 25/07/2020 15:54

Yes, Saurus, I’m creating a mini-wish list for autumn, and as soon as there is a code will get done Gabi cords, I think.

I will probably look like I’m in a sci-fi movie in the dress then! I could stick on some tinfoil epaulettes and be good to go Grin

That’s why I have no desire to go bricks and mortar shopping now. It would make me very sad. I know just what you mean. It’s as if an entire lovely aspect of life has been taken away.
Laska2Meryls · 25/07/2020 16:16

DS who works for Liz Earle, said that their counters are basically over...but they have seen a huge rise in online shopping.. I n fact it seems that they have been doing pretty well..

Laska2Meryls · 25/07/2020 16:18

A Toast white linen Tee ( 16.95Smile) has been hoovered up from JL in this direction now !
I will dye it stone...

neveradullmoment99 · 25/07/2020 16:25

stone sounds nice!

Countmeout · 25/07/2020 18:16

I only have been going shopping when I need something. Masks are not yet mandatory here but I feel more comfortable when people are wearing them. I would be happier to shop if they were obligatory. Never thought about my lipstick!
My dressing gown has arrived. It is wonderful, probably not for a hot climate as it’s cotton lined but it feels marvellous. I got medium as that’s all was left and it’s fine, a bit generous that probably makes it even more comfortable. I couldn’t bear not to have it. I can always grow into it🤦‍♀️ . Picture in next post as it’s on my phone.

Countmeout · 25/07/2020 18:18

Attached a picture on the peg rail as some of you liked it!!!!!
The print is lovely. Less wishy-washy than it looked online.

I’ve been out and about in shops, wearing my mask. I find it ok actually, quite like it that other people stay distanced from me Grin Most things are still being delivered —by Amazon—

AuldFox · 25/07/2020 18:21

My strike through doesn’t work —ever—

AuldFox · 25/07/2020 18:21

I rest my case

AuldFox · 25/07/2020 18:22

Love it it’s proper full length on you @Countmeout
