@Saurus72, I forgot that one, we are! A very close relative is an art obsessive (in the same way that I love Toast, only their habit is much more costly) has booked us a full schedule. We’re even going to see an exhibition about mushrooms at Somerset House! We cannot wait, it is going to feel like the best holiday ever.

Alsohuman · 22/07/2020 18:58

My first Toast disappointment. I picked up my merino and linen jumper from Waitrose this afternoon. It looks lovely but I was expecting it to be a lot softer, the “crunchiness” came as a bit of a surprise. It’s hanging up to see if it grows on me. I suspect I’ll keep it as it will always make back what I paid on eBay if we don’t learn to love each other.

paintyhands · 22/07/2020 19:03

@Dottty yesterday I wore them with Saltwater sandals and today with trainers. I’m looking forward to wearing them with big boots in the winter - I think they can span most seasons (if you live in the north like I do, anyway).

paintyhands · 22/07/2020 19:16

Has anyone on here ordered the massive Kin parka on JL? Mine arrived today and I’m really undecided. I got the 8 so the sizing is fine but I wonder if anyone else has it?

Yes, I ordered it and sent it back. I rocked the little old lady at the bus stop look in it. The bloke roared with laughter when I showed him. It wasn’t for me.
goldpendant · 22/07/2020 19:44

@Dottty do post a pic of you in your honeycomb wrap?! I sooo hankered after it but never saw it on sale! I ended up with the dress for a steal instead, it really is beautiful fabric!

@Moominmammaatsea yes I did start the first thread following the successful purchase of a full price orange linen dress, which has become my lockdown dress and gets huge compliments every time I wear it, it is just so easy but has bags of personality. It's been lovely to find fellow fans and like minded souls on here.

faustina · 22/07/2020 19:57

@paintyhands- trying to catch up after a very long afternoon with a dotty old lady, but I have the massive parka and love it - haven't actually worn it out yet

Boiledeggandtoast · 22/07/2020 20:21

Moominmammaatsea I hope you enjoy all your exhibitions. We were at the National Gallery yesterday and it was fantastic to be back! Even better, because of social distancing and timed entry it meant there were far fewer people than usual and plenty of time and space to look at the pictures.

slipperyeel · 22/07/2020 21:05

I’ve succumbed to this full price cardigan

www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+knitwear/capab/wool+cotton+stitch+pocket+cardigan.htm?clr=CAPAB_Chalk_sw

My plan is to wear it in the evening on holiday in Cornwall when it’s cooler

ilovecherries · 22/07/2020 21:07

That’s a lovely cardigan, I have been lusting it a little.

Last day of Toast sale.. have we got all we wanted? I did .. except Kisawa nightie which kept slipping out of my grasp , but that's ok....
AmParticularly pleased with Cercle bag , andSteve Mono sandals fron Toast and the really fab JL bargains.. esp the Alix , the slate linen trousers and the workwear jacket at fab price..

Laska2Meryls · 23/07/2020 06:38

I still have the slate linen jacket coming from Toast and have high hopes for that..

Laska2Meryls · 23/07/2020 07:20

Who wanted the olive coat dress ? There's a couple of 10s on JK now !!

Countmeout · 23/07/2020 07:24

Thought that cardigan looked lovely @slipperyeel
Nothing on Toast tempting me @Laska2Meryls, keep missing anything on John Lewis.
The only thing I might have liked was the waxed raincoat that popped up briefly in a 6 and the navy Cotton coat. I have a thing for coats. And I wish I’d been able to get the long dressing gown in a small, I have the medium coming and I fear it might be too big, although does that matter in a dressing gown?
I’m doing a bit of work today, trying to put myself together to look slightly professional which is tricky when you’ve been retired for a while and have nothing really too formal to wear. And it’s raining again 😬

Laska2Meryls · 23/07/2020 07:24

.... Oh and yes, I lied , but you lot made me.. ok ? I am blaming you..because I was only looking like to see if there was anything any of you might like. A public service , see?
But 😈was there.. In the form of a pair of Toast Alix in slate..Look, It would have been rude not to.....OK ? 😉

Laska2Meryls · 23/07/2020 07:28

I may keep Slate Alix and return slate linen .. wont keep both .. ...

Laska2Meryls · 23/07/2020 07:34

I have hair appointment !! ( excited) ..

faustina · 23/07/2020 07:40

@Laska2Meryls which size Alix slate did you bag?

Moominmammaatsea · 23/07/2020 07:51

I’m very pleased to have bought the Japanese pleat front indigo trousers on JL (still showing at £195 on the Toast site). You see, the early bird really does catch the worm!

paintyhands · 23/07/2020 07:54

@Moominmammaatsea I am so pleased with those trousers - I’ve worn them lots already. Hope you love them too!

Laska2Meryls · 23/07/2020 08:07

10 Faustina did you get some as well? They had 8s there as well

Laska2Meryls · 23/07/2020 08:09

Fab Moominmama hope they are good !
JL were later today.. I wasnt checking

Moominmammaatsea · 23/07/2020 08:17

@paintyhands, I’m sure I will as I’m becoming even more of a Japanese indigo geek! I kept missing the trousers on JL but couldn’t bring myself to pay £195 on Toast, especially when I knew they were available at 70% off.

How have you found the sizing as I generally (apart from the Judes) find Toast trousers too big for me around the waist? Some reviewers on Toast mention that it’s easy to move the waist buttons to adjust them, though, so I’m hoping that will be an option even if they are too large.

Squiz81 · 23/07/2020 08:40

I watched the first episode of Home is where the art is last night, one of the artists Ann Pollard had a lovely dress on, I messaged her on Instagram to see where it was from, and it was.....🥁...Toast 😁 I thought it might have been. It was very lovely, I’m going to stalk EBay for it.

paintyhands · 23/07/2020 09:28

@Moominmammaatsea I think they’re fairly true to size as far as Toast sizing goes - I’m usually a 10 unless it’s a really oversized style and 10 in these are perfect for me. The buttons are definitely moveable though - I’m another one here on a bit of a weight loss journey and if I needed to I could make them smaller (or bigger).
