Please help me find a wedding dress

Our tiny Registry wedding had to be postponed from May to early September. Disappointingly, I just got a message from Customer Services that the gorgeous red Fold silk dress I had ordered is no longer available for delivery.

I am in my late 40s, size 8, 5"3, with dark blond hair and fair skin. I quite like strong colours (I think I am an autumn type) and prefer a dress that has a more fitted top and a knee-length swishy skirt. I don't like frills and patterns very much and would love to find a dress I could also wear for other occasions. Any ideas?

Apologies for the dodgy link. This link should hopefully work. I wasn't sure about the quite 'chaste' style and thought the dress might drown me but loved the material and the colour and was prepared to have it shortened if it fitted otherwise.

Thanks for the suggestions! I like the shape of the Phase 8 dress and the colour is very vibrant. Sadly it's Polyester and not the beautiful silk I'd coveted for my wedding dress but I might still order it.

Still at the absolute upper budget end for my appetite for special items but there's a fair choice in the mid to lower tier designer range if you get past the shock value of the £3k in the sale frocks!

Thanks for the lovely suggestions. Some really nice ideas here. I think I am not tall enough for longer dresses, they seem to swamp me but what do people think about this green Max Mara dress? I love the colour but perhaps it's a bit too sack-like for a wedding?

Try not on the high street. Last time I looked there were lots of beautiful dresses and many were silk.
