Please help me find a wedding dress

Our tiny Registry wedding had to be postponed from May to early September. Disappointingly, I just got a message from Customer Services that the gorgeous red Fold silk dress I had ordered is no longer available for delivery.

I am in my late 40s, size 8, 5"3, with dark blond hair and fair skin. I quite like strong colours (I think I am an autumn type) and prefer a dress that has a more fitted top and a knee-length swishy skirt. I don't like frills and patterns very much and would love to find a dress I could also wear for other occasions. Any ideas?

Thank you so much, TJ17, for these links, they all worked for me. I adore the Max Mara Georgette sablé dress (a bit Phyllis Shlafly-style as channelled by Cate Blanchett?) but it seems sold out. I have just ordered the green Max Mara Cotton voile and silk dress - fingers crossed!

On that's a shame, that was my favourite too! I got so engrossed dress shopping I didn't think to check availability 🤦🏼‍♀️

If you really love the original dress, would you consider buying size 10 and having it altered to fit?

MoltonSilver, I actually ordered the dress in size 10 because size 8 was no longer available. Annoyingly, they took my money before emailing to say that they had a stock issue (although dress was still showing on their website). Didn’t want to buy a dress before giving notice in case there was another delay, which sadly left it too late but am now looking forward to trying on green Max Mara dress.

Just popping on to say that green MaxMara dress is gorgeous.
