Wedding dress dilemma!

dressdecidehelp · 13/07/2020 18:53

Please could you help me go choose between two wedding dresses - both very different!

A) the plain one
B) the Lacey one

I am quite petite and the wedding is English summertime!

Thank you so much!

Dress one definitely.

Why would anyone wear a see through wedding dress?

dressdecidehelp · 14/07/2020 19:39

@heartsonacake £4K would be the very very top end I would feel comfortable spending (but would prefer to come in at 2kish)

Have you looked at Maggie Sottero? They’re beautiful lace dresses. I bought a Maggie Sotterro wedding dress brand new from a local wedding shop for just under £2,000 and it was simply stunning.

dressdecidehelp · 14/07/2020 19:45

@heartsonacake I haven't but I will take a look - thank you!

Do not spend £4k you are getting swept up in it all. Think about it like you would in normal life.

AnneElliott · 14/07/2020 19:46

The first one.

BobFleming · 14/07/2020 19:50

First one is lovely. But only if you're slim and have good arms.

You’re welcome Smile I had my heart set on a lace dress but found them quite hard to come by so I was overjoyed to find Maggie Sotterro.

It’s hard to find prices online but IIRC they start from about £1200. Here’s a good site that you can browse her dresses and also shows you local stockists: www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-dresses/maggie-sottero/

I'm afraid I don't like either, but the style of the lacy one is much prettier than the plain, too structured one.
I'd go try on a ton of dresses (when you're allowed, not sure what rules dress shops are following?)
I thought I knew what I wanted and ended up with something completely different 😊 not that I'll be wearing it this year mind you! She's stuck in the wardrobe until 2021 😂

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 14/07/2020 19:57

Oh, the plain one. Gorgeous Smile

VenusClapTrap · 14/07/2020 20:36

Have a look at Claire Pettibone. Lots of ethereal, lacey dresses in the style of the second one you posted.

Sherloidbaisherloid · 14/07/2020 20:46

I would say the lace one of it was lined so it wasn’t see thru!

caribooshriek · 14/07/2020 23:11

Plain one, although the lacy one is beautiful. It just needs something underneath. A fitted underdress?

daisypond · 14/07/2020 23:22

The first one.
I think the second one is particularly awful.
