Wedding dress dilemma!

Please could you help me go choose between two wedding dresses - both very different!

A) the plain one
B) the Lacey one

I am quite petite and the wedding is English summertime!

Thank you so much!

Plain one is much more elegant and classy. Don’t like the second

UnshakenNeedsStirring · 13/07/2020 19:23

Dont like either! But Id go for the first one. I dont think the guests want to see you half naked at the wedding? Im guessing you are not getting married din a church!

Notredamn · 13/07/2020 19:24

The first one without the merest, hint of a shadow of a doubt

TornadoOfSouls · 13/07/2020 19:25

Have you tried them on? The first one is very elegant but I don’t see the neckline/straps working on a petite frame. The skirt is also quite bulky and there is a risk the dress would end up wearing you.

The second one is pretty, but as well as needing a serious slip underneath, the neckline is really too immodest for a wedding dress imo. Again, being petite, I don’t know how it would work with your proportions.

KensalGreen · 13/07/2020 19:53

A is beautiful. I think you need to be wary of a big skirt overwhelming you if you’re petite though! B is very pretty too although I’m not sure a slip would actually work underneath that since the neckline is so deep.

Pebblexox · 13/07/2020 19:54

I think it really depends on where you're getting married, and what you're overall aesthetic is.
I love the second one, obviously with a slip underneath to hide the more private parts.
But the first is also lovely for a more classic wedding.

Lacey

PurpleDaisies · 13/07/2020 20:17

I always wonder who gets married in these see through dresses that seem to be everywhere on wedding sites but nowhere in real life.

kenandbarbie · 13/07/2020 20:28

Erm, surely whichever looked better when you tried them on?

timetest · 13/07/2020 20:31

If the second one was lined it would be perfect.

jendalin · 13/07/2020 20:38

The first is beautiful, the second not suitable for a wedding in my opinion.

HermioneWeasley · 13/07/2020 20:41

The plain one

OldLace · 13/07/2020 20:46

The first one is beautiful.

The second one is not suitable for a wedding, imo.

ChequerBoard · 13/07/2020 20:48

Love the first one, so elegant and classy. Not keen on the second, a bit too revealing and net curtainesque.

NC4Now · 13/07/2020 20:51

First one. Are you buying online or have you tried them on? The second one worries me!

TheIckabog · 13/07/2020 21:04

Absolutely buy the first one. I love Suzanne Neville and my wedding dress was actually very similar in style. The skirt was so beautiful and swishy, it was a dream. I jazzed mine up with a diamonte belt, stunning veil and statement necklace.

picklemewalnuts · 13/07/2020 21:26

I think the first one would drown you if you are petite. The softness of the second works well, it will fall rather than standing around you.

But it needs something. They must sell it with something to spare everyone's blushes!

VenusClapTrap · 13/07/2020 22:03

I love the lace one, assuming you’ll have it lined or wear with a slip.

The first one is boring.

PippaRose · 13/07/2020 22:47

I think the first one is a bit dull too, the second one would be great with the right slip underneath

frugalkitty · 13/07/2020 22:52

Plain one for the wedding day......lace one for the wedding night? Grin

Sorry. I like the first one, as long as it doesn't swap you.

Girlswithflowers · 13/07/2020 22:56

First one - shoulders look a bit wonky neither one thing or other
Second one - you are half naked but if more coverage and boobs not falling out is lovely.

LittlemissAWOL · 13/07/2020 22:56

First one.

Atalune · 13/07/2020 22:59

Second one.

Very young and fresh. Love it. Obviously with the right lining.

dressdecidehelp · 14/07/2020 17:59

Thanks everyone!

Seems to be 50/50 ish!

I have tried on the plain one - turns out the lacy one is over £6k so it's out of my budget anyway!
