Just that really. One you tuck in, leave loose, wear with loads of different skirts and trousers/ jeans, wash again and again and would recommend without a doubt?

I have a lovely bravissimo one - well actually I have the same shirt in short and long sleeve versions. Having given up on wearing anything with a button down front it is an utter revelation to have a shirt that doesn't gape!

I have a nice Vivienne Westwood one which I nicked off a boyfriend. And I'm an hourglass who usually looks crap in shirts

No I feel too waitress like in one .. slopes off as not much help. Randomly though I had some nice reasonable quality fitted shirts from Very, but if you want looser I'd try Crew clothing or one of those preppy brands.

100% cotton and I like the slightly oversized but not 'marquee' style.

Arket. Have filtered all the shite shirts here, but the poplin shirts are lovely. Would recommend Arket generally though, great quality and natural fibres.

What is the Arket sizing like - generous or skimpy ??? TIA

I always see things about white shirts on here but I’ve never had one apart from school uniform and I literally never see anyone wearing one. What do you wear them with and how do you style them? I’m intrigued as to why they’re such a wardrobe staple when I never see them on anyone

I have had a Nicole Fahri shirt for about 6 years. It washes so well, hardly needs ironing, stayed bright white and I always get compliments on it, the general one saying I look fresh.They are very expensive £200 plus, but I got my one from TK Maxx for around £50.

I would say Arket are on the generous side with their tops. Be aware it is north European sizing, so a 36 is a UK10 38 UK12 etc. A small equates to 8-10.

I have two from M&S, I sized up as I wanted a loose fit, they wash brilliantly and are still "white".
