Does anyone have a classic white, oversized, button down, white shirt they just love?

Just that really. One you tuck in, leave loose, wear with loads of different skirts and trousers/ jeans, wash again and again and would recommend without a doubt?

Really strange fabric (cotton, but weird) with puffy, unflattering balloon sleeves. Sadly it's going back.

I feel like Cos is just sometimes too billowy?! But I will check them out. Just had a Cos delivery yesterday actually of a lovely summer dress.

I asked one once what she had flattering for my age shape and size for an event and she brought me 4 items I never would have picked off the rail ... I bought all 4 of them and love most of their stuff ... it is a little billowy sometimes but suits my short pixie hair
I love a plain white shirt that will have something " different " about it - maybe a longer back or a weird sleeve

One's just gone into the Cos sale this morning.

Yes, sorry, missed the bit about button down. I'd recommend Muji. Their shirts are really reasonable & well made. I've been wearing an oversized pinstripe one from there for more than 10 years & no need to get rid at all.

Darn it. Just bought the Cos one. I’m trying out my new clothes shopping policy of “would it look out of place in Toast”. That Cis shirt is very Toasty, but doesn’t cost £300!

I think Cos will get new white shirts in once the sale is over, they don’t have a great selection at the moment, keep looking.

If you want a traditional look then Thomas Pink womens shirts are excellent (v spendy though). They come in three styles: classic, regular and slim fit I think (something like that). Some have a bit of stretch. Mother of pearl buttons and turned back double cuffs etc. I had one that lasted about 12 yrs and I wore it a lot.
