Hair cut on Wednesday... trim or short (er) Pics

Am 58. Feeling tired and old. My hair is doing me no favours. Most of the time it’s in a pony tail. Wash it, every other day. Thinking shorter but like to tie it back. Or... maybe a fringe? Some days I’m so knackered looking I just wish I could hide under a long fringe.

Honestly just get a trim. I'm a smidge younger than you and thought getting many inches chopped off earlier this year would brighten me up. It didn't and my hair was much harder work and it made me look dowdy.
Fortunately my hair grows fast so it's much more manageable and flattering now and I won't be cutting it shorter again until the next time I get bored ever.

Trim only.
It's not like you look like you need an overhaul now is it!!

Get a trim and a curtain fringe. I wouldn't go too much shorter unless you were going to get a pixie.

Some right cranky people on here.

If you get a split fringe make sure it's tuckable behind your ears otherwise it can be really annoy to deal with.

I chopped mine from your length to a long bob earlier this year and was really pleased. What made me do it was taking a pic with it down, then one with it loosely tied to around the length I got it chopped to and quickly swiping between the two on my phone.
Although it was a good hair day on the long hair pic all I could see were jowls, on the short haired one my eyes popped out (not literally 🤣 but why were what I saw first) so I chopped.
It's mostly grown back in lockdown but it'll be getting another chop which will also make it mostly my natural silver/ grey colour

Sorry for your losses, OP.

Curtain fringe like the Scarlett picture.
Trim off 2-3 inches.
Long, fine layers.

I think your hair looks fab, but I get what you mean about always having it in a pony. It seems pointless to have it tied back all the time etc - I am the same!

I think a stylish bob / or lob kept done properly is far more stylish than a pony every day and it won't age you if its a modern cut. I like the bobs you posted!

Thanks all. Am looking forward to having it done now. Saw a friend today who said “your hair’s grown in lockdown!” Told her I was considering having something a bit different this week and she then started talking me out of it. However, her longer hair was cut short before Christmas and she regretted it by New Year 😐

Love the Jack Martin colour.

I’d go for a split fringe and a trim, rather than anything shorter. You totally rock long hair so take advantage! Lucky lady.

Hair postponed for another three weeks 🙄. At this rate, I’ll be taking the scissors to it myself!
