While the milestone party has been postponed until further notice, I have lost weight this lockdown, feeling fiiine and am fantasising/shooting the breeze.

So i'm tall (now!) slim with sizeable boobs, mid 30s. Buying all to return most still feels an eye wateringly expensive way of shopping and of course I'd rather be trying dresses on in a shop but there we are. I've just looked on The Outnet and John Lewis so any other ideas welcomed.

What do you think of these dresses?

The first four are VERY glamorous. The last one is completely different to the others though?

I would only wear the first four to a very formal ball type of evening. The last one is more of a wedding or party dress?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 28/06/2020 22:07

Yeah they are drastically different aren't they! I guess I can't completely decide between the dark glam vs fun colourful.

They’re so different that I can’t tell which would be most appropriate for the party. Out of all the dark ones, the first is nicest.
It depends on the style of the party really...

nutkin7 · 28/06/2020 22:12

I think they're all gorgeous!!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 28/06/2020 22:14

It's a black tie sit down dinner with friends and family.

In a private room of a fairly trendy bar/restaurant.

No 2 is stunning

ScarlettDarling · 28/06/2020 22:19

The first is my favourite. It's totally glam though and would be over the top for anything but the dressiest of occasions.

My second favourite is the last dress. It's totally different to the first one, not as over the top glam but still really sexy. Gorgeous colours too.

Morgan12 · 28/06/2020 22:19

I'm mid 30s and wouldn't wear any of them to this type of event. I think you would be very overdressed? Get something young and trendy?

villamariavintrapp · 28/06/2020 22:24

First or last are lovely

MonsteraCheeseplant · 28/06/2020 22:26

Yeah i've struggled to find the perfect young and sexy dress. I've found a lot of high necked stuff and I really need v neck.
I do like glamour and tend to dress up to be fair.

I really liked the first & the fourth.

PolloDePrimavera · 28/06/2020 22:31

I'm with Morgan. I'm 44 and don't feel grown up enough for them. They are nice enough but I think a little dated. You clearly have a decent budget, I would look at:
AllSaints
Maje
Self Portrait
Ganni
The Vampire's Wife
Or this a bit gorgeous...

1-4 are all nice but I think you would be overdressed for a family dinner, even in a trendy restaurant. I am not keen on number 5.

DrWAnker · 28/06/2020 22:38

Don't like 2 or 5.
Favourite is 1, then 4.
I dress up too but I think those are extremely ott for the event you describe.
I'm only jealous as I could neither afford or fit into them!

Alexkate2468 · 28/06/2020 22:39

@PolloDePrimavera Vampires wife is a completely different budget range. Stunning stuff but clearly not the same....

PolloDePrimavera · 28/06/2020 22:44

Alex . Ok, thanks. Sales may be an option though.

I like the style of the last one the best (but wouldn't wear anything that bright because I love black too much). I am really not a fan of 1 - 4; they look like the kind of dresses that I wore to fancy balls when I was at uni. I'm mid thirties now and like to think I go to fancy/trendy restaurants quite often and would be far more likely to wear something like a leather skirt and blouse. All Saints is a good shout in terms of brands.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/06/2020 22:50

Number 2 (Adriana Papell) definitely. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍.

GoBackToPartyCity · 28/06/2020 23:00

Have you had a look at Needle & Thread? Their dresses are stunning!

Another vote for #2

itsureis · 28/06/2020 23:25

#1 is gorgeous .... I love it !

Lucked · 28/06/2020 23:29

I think the full length ones feel a bit corporate. Go for something a bit edgier or fun.

PolloDePrimavera · 28/06/2020 23:33

GoBack yes, gorgeous 👍

excelledyourself · 28/06/2020 23:53

I'm mid 30's and think most of those dresses are lovely, but for older women .
