I know it's been done to death - comfortable, flat but smart sandals for work

Not birkies or fit flops, just something simple, but nice, comfy and smart to wear when I go back to the office in July. Any suggestions... I'm looking online and everything seems to be sliders, which I have plenty of, but could do with something a bit more professional.

Help!

I love my Salt Water sandals. They are on their second summer and look as good as new. They do a few different styles too.

peachypetite · 25/06/2020 11:59

John Lewis have a good sale

moomoogalicious · 25/06/2020 12:01

Saltwater. So comfy as well.

PuppyMonkey · 25/06/2020 12:20

Thanks for suggestion, not so keen on Saltwater tbh, think they’re a bit too flip floppy. Will have a look at John Lewis though!

PuppyMonkey · 25/06/2020 12:33

Ooh, more suggestions thank you. Earth Spirit have a few smarter ones that look good - I think those Rieker ones are ok too, curtain, just looking at some of the other styles now...

Oh this is another one that makes me feel very old. Sandals? In the office?!

Strictly against the rules when I started work and still seems unprofessional to me.

Marsis · 25/06/2020 13:11

How are saltwaters on big and wide feet and are they relatively hard wearing?

biddybid73 · 25/06/2020 13:12

I have these

Slightly different design to the other blowfish ones but v comfy and go well with everything. I'm on my feet most of the day and find them comfortable.

I wore sandals to work from my first office job, and that was nearly 20 years ago.
PuppyMonkey · 25/06/2020 14:04

I’ve been working in professional roles for the past 30 years (Including going to court) and sandals are perfectly acceptable attire.Confused

I’ve bought those ones I linked to earlier but no harm having a look at the others too is there? Grin

Thanks so much guys!

Moshulu do some smart sandles, and very comfortable.

UltimateWednesday · 25/06/2020 14:15

Yes, very old, much more than 20 years ago. Bare legs weren't allowed either, there were actual written rules forbidding it.

PuppyMonkey · 25/06/2020 14:51

Where and when was that then @UltimateWednesday?

OP posts:
UltimateWednesday · 25/06/2020 21:19

Corporate banking 1980s

UltimateWednesday · 25/06/2020 21:21

Although in my defense, you watch any female in a high powered career in a TV drama, they won't be wearing sandals to the office, even now. Unfeasibly high heels, maybe but not sandals.

BluntAndToThePoint80 · 25/06/2020 21:40

@UltimateWednesday

My recent experience in law firms is that sandals are a no go. Bare legs also frowned upon, although not always as noticeable, so people can just about get away with that.

UltimateWednesday · 25/06/2020 21:41

See! It is just wrong. I've got to a point where comfort is more important, so I do go bare legged but sandals are the line for me Grin
