How accurate have you found Boob or Bust

Sat at work yesterday and my bra just felt so bloody uncomfortable constantly adjusting it so tried Boob or Bust and just can't imagine it could be right.

Was measured a good few years ago in M&S as 34B, BorB is saying 28F as a starting point?!

Going to order a few new bras today.

Life changing for me - so many people are used to the fit of terrible bras that it takes a bit of getting used to but once you do, you'll never look back!

autumnhare · 25/06/2020 07:04

I used it a while ago and it put me as a much larger cup than I was wearing. So I ordered some in the size suggested and have never looked back! The difference in comfort level is amazing!

itsme · 25/06/2020 07:11

I am so glad I tried it, from a 38e to a 34h. The band felt restricting at first but I got used to it and it stretched out a little with wear.

Xiaoxiong · 25/06/2020 07:16

I love it but you have to buy from brands that also use the same BoB sizing. So for me, I can buy from Panache, Freya, Fantasie or basically anything on FigLeaves, but not M&S because their bras don't seem to follow the same method of sizing.

Mammyofasuperbaby · 25/06/2020 07:16

Best thing I did. I went from a 42c to a 38e and the support is so much better. My upper back no longer hurts after a few hours and the fit is much more flattering

Duckfinger · 25/06/2020 07:17

I think it's ok but not perfect, I don't think the bending over measurement helps me.
That said I have always worn proper sized bras, I am somewhere around a 34GG or H depending on style, boob or bust put me at 34J, which all the scooping in the world can't fill. I think the old m and s style puts me in a 40DD now I don't know though as I went from trainer bras straight into a 30DD at about 15.

NowIKnowWhataTVDinnerFeelsLike · 25/06/2020 07:20

M&S told me I was 34B or 36C (because my boobs are a 'funny shape') but boob or bust came out at 32D/30DD and I've been a lot more comfortable since! I also buy these sizes in M&S, although their band sizing is quite irregular so I do try on first!

IndiaMay · 25/06/2020 07:21

I'm not 100% on it. It put me at a 28G and I find the back v tight. That said every 28G has failed the band test and really stretches so I think I'm probably a 26H which I have no chance of getting. I wear my 28G on the tightest hooks and sort of let it out throughout the day. As it gets uncomfortable. I still cant wait to get it off though.

Also some 28G the cups seem too small, some are too big and some seem just right!

ExpletiveDelighted · 25/06/2020 07:24

I tried it out of interest as my M&S bras fitted comfortably (never been measured by M&S). It confirmed that I was wearing the right size. There is a lot of fit variation between different bras in the same size though so I still try lots on before buying.

marriednotdead · 25/06/2020 07:25

I’ve found it fine on some people but a little too restrictive on those with wider flatter ribs/broader backs, a tape measure doesn’t factor that bit in.
(I bra fit regularly).
BOB makes me a 30G/GG but a wider cupped 32FF in Freya is perfect, find most other things suffocating.

DreamingofSunshine · 25/06/2020 07:28

I went from 34DD to 30G. Found 30 too tight so have settled at 32F which is very comfortable and no double boobs. Sometimes I think their band sizes are a touch too tight- a 30 left me with very angry red marks.

UncomfortableSilence · 25/06/2020 07:30

Positive then, I just can't see my little boobs filling an H cup no matter how much I'd like them to Grin

F cup I meant Confused

M&S had me at a 40HH (I went and got measured as an experiment for a bra website!)
I'm a 34K... M&S are usually wildly out

Crocky · 25/06/2020 07:41

M&S put me in a 34B. I’m a 28f.

Velvian · 25/06/2020 07:53

I agree M&S are awful at measuring. It's been a long time since I got measured, but they put me in a 34 band, I would have been a 28 at the time. I'm 28-30 now.

IndiaMay · 25/06/2020 08:03

@ExpletiveDelighted M&S dont follow UK sizing (they skip the double letters after DD and move everything down so their G is actually a FF etc) so if your M&S bras are uncomfortable but your boob or bust size is what you're wearing from M&S they wont be the same size

WowserBowser · 25/06/2020 08:06

Love it. Went from a 34c to a 30f. I have v small boobs. Since having DD i think i am a different size now. But it is a good starting point. Will never go back to a 34!

Budapestpest · 25/06/2020 08:16

M&S have me as a 36c. Feels comfy enough when I put it on but the straps slide off and the back rides up all the time.
BOB have me as a 32e or ee and it’s amazing. Took a little bit of getting used to but my bra doesn’t budge all day now and feels comfortable, much more so than before, I’m not aware of wearing it really
M&S are complete junk and I can’t believe they’ve still got so many women fooled

KatharinaRosalie · 25/06/2020 08:29

I find that for boobs that have lost a lot of the fullness, it sometimes recommends bigger cup than what's needed, as the leaning measurement will be quite large compared to the boob volume. However, it's always better to start from a too large cup and work your way down than the other way around.

Pineapplemonkey · 25/06/2020 09:09

Wayyyyy out, am currently wearing 40DD which mostly don't seem too bad apart from wires digging in armpits. BOB measured at 40H. I ordered (from Brastop) a 40H and it was massive, felt like I could fit my boobs in the cups twice over there was that big a gap in each one. I measured so many times as well to make sure I got it right but the amount of excess fabric was ridiculous looking. I'm going to try a 40E but if not stick with my current ones. It's the 'hanging' measurement I don't get, I'm going to be upright whilst wearing my bra!

Katiepoes · 25/06/2020 09:32

A lingerie shop had me in 34E, M&S in 36D and BoB in 32G. The 32G is perfect (once I got over the wtf moment).

UncomfortableSilence · 25/06/2020 10:27

I've ordered 3 in slightly different sizes so we shall see.

withlotsoflove · 25/06/2020 12:56

It put me at 32F - l can see that - but... all 30 bands are agony under my armpit. Confused
So... l wing it and wear a 34DD or E
Probably all wrong too!

gothicsprout · 25/06/2020 13:08

It was a good starting point for me but needs a bit of adjustment. As someone else said above I don’t think it works as well for bottom-heavy breast shapes.

Curvy Kate have quite a helpful blog post on different boob shapes and finding a bra cut/style that works. www.curvykate.com/blog/what-type-of-boobs-do-you-have/
