I can't get an appointment till the 14th July but it's better than nothing.
I've never been so excited in my life

I got my appointment today for the 17th July - absolutely buzzing! So shocked at how grey I am underneath and my hair has grown so much that it looks a little like a rats next. Couldn't be more excited to feel fab about my hair again!

Alsohuman · 24/06/2020 17:38

My appointment is on 13 July and I’m beside myself with excitement. I can’t wait to look like myself again.

CupofHorlicks · 24/06/2020 18:47

I cant wait to go to the hairdressers. I feel more at risk driving there than having my hair done Grin seriously overdue this necessity.

Devlesko · 24/06/2020 18:48

Mine needs doing desperately, but I'm waiting until the rush dies down then I can have the managers personal attention without him trying to do another 4 at the same time.

Bookaholic73 · 24/06/2020 18:50

Me!! The minute that my hairdresser announced it was opening on the 6th, I was on the phone.
They open on Monday the 6th and my appointment is at 9am Grin

MyFavouritePlace · 24/06/2020 19:01

Yup - all booked in and cannot wait - roots, highlights and cut - not fussed if no blow dry.

bluesapphirestars · 24/06/2020 19:02

Can. Not. Wait.

IndecentFeminist · 24/06/2020 19:06

I wasn't, but am now. Waiting to hear back from mine. I have a nigh on pixie that hasn't been cut since January 🤦‍♀️😱 Need to discuss colour too.

Ours has said that they will wear shields, and we need to wear masks. Our area has had next to no cases so am not concerned.

DefinatelyAWeeGobshite · 24/06/2020 19:29

If you had asked me in May I’d have said me, however at the end of May I couldn’t stand my mullet pixie anymore so I shaved my hair down to a 6.

My plan being that by the time hairdressers opened it would be long enough to style again. Nowhere near long enough for a cut yet!

However my hairdressers have put up today a waiting list for haircuts the next 4 weeks and it’s already full, I’ll probably around September/October time now

MorrisZapp · 24/06/2020 19:33

My hairdresser hasn't updated their website once since lockdown started. It just basically says 'we're shut'.

How are people making appointments? Is it all via online booking? I do have the treatwell app so I could try that I suppose. Cut and highlights urgently needed here.

allaglow · 24/06/2020 19:38

I'm booked in for 7th July, and I'm so excited.
Full service for me: cut, colour, new extensions going in, and curly blow dry with pins.
Guess I'll be in there for a while.

ScrapThatThen · 24/06/2020 19:40

I can't wait but I also cannot decide what I want done! I'm starting a new job in October and there are no big events anymore this year so I can take my time deciding!

MrBennsshop · 24/06/2020 19:43

My lovely hairdresser is fully booked until mid August, but I messaged the salon and she's squeezed me and DH in by coming in early one morning. I'll be tipping her the cost of a cut. It must be tough losing your tips and I know she's just bought a house so money will be really tight for her

googledontknow · 24/06/2020 21:09

I usually get mine done when I'm working in London, but I'm WFH for the near future.
I can't work out whether it will be worth the 3 hr return trip (I would drive).
I have a feeling this salon will be booked up until Christmas though, as it specialises in colour - which takes ages, so would use up a lot of salon time.

didireallysaythat · 24/06/2020 22:33

How frequently do you have to go to the hairdresser if you colour your hair? Genuine question - I've always fancied the idea but I guess you need to go more than a couple of times as year? My hairdresser is always fully booked at the weekend so i was going to try colouring at home instead but from the excitement about going to the hairdresser for hours I guess there's a good reason why you don't do it at home?

healththrowawayx · 25/06/2020 11:38

My hair salon rang me fairly quickly after they started taking bookings again, pretty chuffed. Decided to book in for late July instead of an earlier appointment, my hair has grown out so much that I’m not in a rush to sort it! Not sure if I regret doing that though as I’m sure all the early appointments are taken!

I get highlights and every 3 months, a root tint (to blend the highlighted hair in with my dark regrowth) then every 6-9 months another session of highlights.

Quarantimespringclean · 25/06/2020 12:02

My hairdresser rang a few weeks ago and I’m booked in for the 6th July. I’m looking forward to a fringe trim because atm I have floppy side wings reminiscent of a 90s boy band.

I will also have highlights and a whole head tint to cover my greys. I normally have it done every 4 months and it’s been six months since the last time. I’m sort of excited to have it done because my roots are slightly darker than my highlighted lengths so they make my hair look greasy but I’m also strangely fascinated by the bright white hairs flashing here and there and clustered around my hairline. They look so alien. I quite like looking at them and marvelling that they are growing out of my head.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 25/06/2020 21:57

Booked in for 7th July, can't wait, but more importantly when is Boris getting his hair cut? It's so long now it is almost a bob!

FizzyPink · 25/06/2020 22:28

@didireallysaythat I have very blonde highlights done (it essentially looks bleached but isn’t bleach) and I get it every 6 weeks usually as my roots are very dark.
The problem with leaving it longer is that if you wait until your roots are very long then you can end up with a bit of a stripe where the newly highlighted bit is very noticeable

SpeedofaSloth · 25/06/2020 22:30

🙋‍♀️
My roots are 3 inches long. It looks like really rubbish ombre now.

didireallysaythat · 25/06/2020 23:09

@Turnedouttoes and others - thank you.

Maybe I should have a play at home as it doesn't sound like I've got the patience, time or money for getting my hair coloured. It's been a little more than a year since I had my hair cut and I'm not missing my hairdresser at the moment.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 25/06/2020 23:32

I think they'll be booked solid till 2025.
I've lived in this area 6 years and still haven't found a hairdresser I like.
I need a cut badly, I'm guilty of hacking at my curls so will have to appologize for the mess she's going to have to sort out, when I finally find one

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 26/06/2020 07:51

I always thought ombre looked like an expensive version of grown out colour anyway!
AgnesNaismith · 26/06/2020 07:54

Me me me me me me me me me....I even had a dream about it last night....so shallow

Bella2020 · 26/06/2020 08:03

My appointment is for 25th of July. Shock I don't really use Facebook so didn't know the 'list' for appointments had already been started so I'm quite late.

I had short hair until 3 years ago and I hate to think how I'd feel if this had happened when my hair was short. I know my hair is huge just now, but there are ladies in much more desperate need than me!
