I can't get an appointment till the 14th July but it's better than nothing.
I've never been so excited in my life

8th July appointment for me! Do like the lockdown length but can't wait to get the colour done. Happy to leave with wet hair if necessary.

sunsunyeah · 26/06/2020 08:55

Booked in for 6th July - cut, colour and blow dry. I might go for a different shade of colour if there's time. People have commented how long my hair is now. I quite like it so will just have a trim. I'm in my 50s but I think I can get away with long hair 😊

Monkeybunkey · 26/06/2020 09:05

Booked in for 4th July, just a cut but my hair is now at that awkward length where I can't tie it back but it's too long and getting in my face. It also desperately needs thinning out, as it's sticking out at the back (normally graduated and shaved at the bottom).

dinodiva · 26/06/2020 09:31

Got an appointment for 17th July. So excited. I like to pretend I can pass for younger than 40, but my roots are currently telling me otherwise. I cannot wait for them to be gone. Since we’ve not had the cleaner and we’ve been doing the cleaning, I’m horrified by how much hair there is everywhere, so I’ll be having a big chop as well. I evidently shed like a cat.

princessTiasmum · 01/07/2020 22:01

I don't think a lot of hairdressers are blow drying, from what i read in another thread, and, my daughters hairdresser isn't ,no drinks, magazines,or toilet either, and charge for ppe

JaceLancs · 01/07/2020 22:19

I’m booked for 13th July - I have resisted great temptation to take the scissors to it myself
DD did a root touch up for me about 8 weeks in to lockdown and am due for full colour
I never have a blow dry as curly and prefer just to run some curl cream through it and leave to dry
So excited to see my lovely hairdresser again
Just waiting for beauty salons as want eyelash perm and tint plus my nails done

healththrowawayx · 02/07/2020 00:55

I was one of the first on my salon’s list so had my pick of dates, but decided to book a late July appointment. I’m getting dermal filler (tear trough) for the first time soon and didn’t want to look weird/bruised at my hair appointment as they always take photos of my hair! It’s going to be a major transformation.

Goslowlysideways · 02/07/2020 03:55

July 4th 10.30am
So excited but a bit nervous. I’m currently looking like a slightly greying haystack.

Al booked bit not looking forward to it. Don't want all the stress and bollocks that will go with it. No magazines, probably no chat through a mask, no coffee, it will be pretty dull and I think the hairdresser's will be pretty stressed.

Alsohuman · 02/07/2020 12:14

I think the hairdressers will be ecstatic. After the best part of 14 weeks with no work and, in some cases, no income, they’re going to be delighted to get a major part of their lives back.

SimonJT · 02/07/2020 12:20

A friend is coming round to do mine on Saturday, I was due a haircut when lockdown hit. I’m rocking a man bun, which in itself doesn’t look too bad, but with the long sides I just look like a twat. As someone who is a bit vain I cannot wait to have it cut.

EasilyDelighted · 02/07/2020 12:21

Mine phoned yesterday to book me back in, 1st Aug which is fine, I had it cut just before lockdown and the shape has held well apart from the fringe which I am clipping back. Wet cut only for me, that's all I usually have. I don't mind about the lack of magazines, drinks etc, my cut doesn't take long.

GarlicMcAtackney · 02/07/2020 12:39

Are none of you worried about having someone right up in your face? Since proximity and time spent, are the two huge risk factors in passing on/catching the virus. Do you think the risk to the hairdressers life from being exposed to people all day inches from their faces, will be worth it for your hair? I can’t understand the thinking behind this.

bluesapphirestars · 02/07/2020 12:43

Not remotely worried and I think my hairdresser will be glad to have an income again.

CremeEggThief · 02/07/2020 12:47

My hairdresser didn't have the decency to contact those of us who had appointments cancelled in lockdown first, so I will be looking for somebody else, when I will be able to. No way could I be in a room for an hour or two wearing a mask!

lockdownalli · 02/07/2020 12:49

I am with you OP - my lovely hairdresser texted me and booked me in for Monday.

I have actually booked a day off work as I will need to swish my way around town afterwards. So bloody excited.

EasilyDelighted · 02/07/2020 13:45

I'm not worried no. Hairdressers don't get their faces that close to yours, they are behind you most of the time. They'll have masks, fewer clients per day than previously, extra surface cleaning. Mine sounded very excited to be starting work again when I spoke to her.

Why is your hairdresser getting up in your face? I have never had a barber get up in my face and I have never seen a barber get within a few inches of someones face. That would be weird.
AnnaNimmity · 02/07/2020 20:19

me! I have an appointment on 4 July. texted my hairdresser as soon as the announcement was made!

So excited.

Just need the beautician to open now as my other bits and pieces are in a shocking state.

vjg13 · 03/07/2020 08:17

Was trying to show off about having an appointment next week to someone who then revealed they have the first appointment on Saturday!

Nope. As a pp said, they’re behind you most of the time and they’re wearing masks/shields. And we have one of the lowest infection rates in the country. I’m not prepared to walk around looking an absolute mess any longer than I have to.
coronahair · 03/07/2020 10:06

I would love to see photos of the hair transformations Smile

VanGoghsDog · 03/07/2020 10:32

Consultation (in the car park) on 9th, appointment in 14th, cut, tint and low lights.

Not had it done since Dec and was due March, so I'm quite shaggy. I did put a semi permanent colour on it myself in May which I think has more of less washed out now so won't affect the new colour.

Can't do contactless payment as it will be way over the limit. Have to wear a mask and there is no waiting, have to sit in the car until my turn, which is fine.

They are charging a Covid tax to cover the cost of their PPE.

I got the appointment by emailing on their "contact us" form on their web page and saying please ring me about an appointment when you get a chance.

The reason I have the colour done in the salon and not at home is not because I like going to salons for hours on end (I hate it, bonus of the ppe will be that there is less talking about holidays and random celebs which bores me rigid) is that they are far better at colour than I am, it has more subtle tones to it than a single colour plonked on your head which can look very flat.
I don't think I'd manage foils myself at home.

Mum has an appointment due 22nd, she's three hours from me so I need to go over on 21st so I can take her (and sit in the car) and home on 23rd.

Horsemad · 03/07/2020 14:20

I'm booked in tomorrow morning, 2nd appt, colour cut and blow dry.
No magazines or coffees and the hairdresser will be wearing a visor. We don't have to wear masks but I probably will (haven't worn one anywhere yet but as my appt usually takes about 2hrs, I think I will).

Really looking forward to having the colour done, not having much cut off as I quite like it this length.
