Cycling shorts and prison trousers, do you think they are stylish and do you wear them?

I'm clearly not very fashionable and up to date with trends, but are these things really in fashion at the moment and do you wear them to social events / drinks.

I'm in my twenties and my social media is full of women my own age wearing these as though they are high fashion.

For context the photos I'm seeing, they aren't wearing them casually but pairing them with full glam make up, hair done, nice tops. It very much is a trend.

I wear shorts that look like that as workout shorts. And now in lockdown, I admit I've been wearing them all day. In my defence, I do workout morning, and then evening, and hate getting changed umpteen times in a day. I'm just lazy and it's easy to wear
