Hello!

There used to be a lovely what are you wearing today? thread(s) on here for people who were plus size (circa 16/18 and up I think).

Could anyone tell me if they've seen one lately please? If there isn't one on the go, would anyone be interested in joining me on here?

I'm size 16/18. Today I'm in a New Look floral dress and DM boots. Pic attached (hopefully).

That's lovely @sonjadog! Looks fab on you and it's a lovely colour.

It's always exciting when you start buying smaller sizes if you've been trying to lose weight.

I keep going the other way at the moment, but thankfully seem to have stalled recently! Maybe the end of the lockdown weight gain 🤞.

I love that colour and print, sonjadog! It’s so pretty! I just found this thread (when I say ‘just’, I mean I spent 4 hours reading it, with forays to click links and much gnashing of teeth of out of stock sizes 😂).
I wanted to say you have given me loads of ideas, thank you! I’m 5’2” and size 18. Or I was, last year, and I’ve put a stone on during lockdown, so am not entirely sure what might be going on now, especially since I’ve basically been wearing pyjamas or leggings for 5 months.
You’ve inspired me to buy and wear actual clothes 🎉 I live in the arse end of nowhere and just found out I will be continuing to wfh until at least January, so it’s time to get my shit together before I disappear into sweat pant oblivion forever. I should add that I have the glorious misfortune to live in a town with highest per capita of Olympians in what feels like the entire cosmiverse, so literally everyone I see is a max size 8 lithe, muscled, tanned goddess, or climbs the nearest mountain before breakfast before they have to squeeze in a marathon by lunch.
I’m also 49 and coming to terms with the fact that I’m never going to be that size ever again. 😬 So I have to figure out what to do with what I’ve got!
Anyhoo, thank you! Off for a spot of wardrobe perusal and online shopping...

comfy casual today with black culottes and a grey tee.

I highly recommend this dress from next. Really flattering and comfortable. Cool in hot weather as the fabric is lightweight.

I haven't got a picture of me wearing it as I've packed it for my holiday.

They do this dress in various patterns and it's £30.

@uggmum that's a beautiful dress!

I'm not sure what the weather is doing atm so have gone with my Mint velvet trousers. Put a sweater on first but was instantly too hot so swapped to the Bench t shirt size L.

My Seasalt dress arrived and I love it! Think I'll feel more comfy wearing some knee length leggings under it tho so that will need to be my next purchase

I love the yellow colour of your top. I wish I could wear yellow. I keep trying but it doesn't work with my skin tone at all.

I like those coulottes as well a lot. I have a pair that I have worn to death but I can't find any others that I like as much. I should have bought two of the pair I have when I found them.

Oh love the Seasalt dress @IslaMann! I think that's the same shape as mine. I bought another one new afterwards, because it was on sale! Can't remember the name, but shall have a look.

I know @LivingDeadGirlUK! The weather can't make its mind up here either. We have had torrential rain, thunder and blazing sunshine today .

Och I bet @LordOfTheOnionRings! It's such a big day when you have to leave them for the first time.

I've been off for years with mine, (not really by choice, as I got made redundant on mat leave with my first ). I am starting a new course in October, so am sending the 2.5yo to childcare soon, so I can study in peace and maybe get some temp work. Feels weird after all this time!

@LordOfTheOnionRings how was your first day back? I start back after maternity in 3 weeks and am staring to feel nervous.
Scruffs on today, mostly in house and weathers rubbish.

Today I'm in an extremely old Lindy Bop dress, which I can now fit back into as I've lost nearly a stone. I was easily a size 20, now I'm more 18-20. I work from home for the forseeable future, so it doesn't really matter what I wear, but I went to the hairdressers this morning so I thought I'd frock up and see if I could get this fastened again. And I can. So hurrah!

I'm in my black, purple and pink patterned H&M dress again today. Paired with Vans and a purple raincoat #readyforanyweather

I think Lindy Bop have gone into administration? Or was that just gossip? I hope they haven't as I used to love their stuff and it was ways quite reasonably priced and pure cotton etc.

@ladyprigsbottom you are correct, although you can still get hold of LB dresses on auction sites and fb groups. The quality of their stuff went very much downhill of recent years, and their sizing was all over the place (this dress is a 22. I've never been a 22!)

Ah maybe not such a loss then, if they were going downhill. I always thought the quality was excellent on the few occasions I bought from them. Sad though.

Hi all have been watching from afar.

Went to the dentist today and got drenched. Had a dress on with leggings and the knock off vans i unintentionally now own. I must admit I'm usually abroad this particular week of the year so haven't found my summer clothing. I always find it too late, just as winter hits 😂

Some wonderful outfits, lovely to see the newbies joining. @LadyPrigsbottom you had an outfit on a few days ago with a belt, it was particularly flattering for your shape 😘. @sonjadog you really suit the dresses but I'm guessing you feel more at home in your dungarees? You wear them well 😁. Reminds me, I've a pinafore dress I must pull out of the wardrobe.

Im feeling the strain of lockdown pounds so am changing my processes. Trying to be a bit more conscious about what food I eat, drink more water, and have started doing dance videos on YouTube. Please don't laugh 😂. (I can hook you up if you want 😉) My husband is not allowed to be anywhere near when I'm doing it.

I'm just trying to be a bit healthier. No diets, no scales, no measuring. Just healthier choices and trying to get some fitness back. I have chronic pain and my back is so bad at the minute I can't get far without being in agony. So, that has to change! Plus I'd really like to fit into my jeans better.

I took a photo the other day but decided my t shirt was a bit controversial for mumsnet and didn't want to offend anyone 😂

@LadyPrigsbottom have you enjoyed your time with the kids being at home? I wish i could have stayed off for a little longer but I was scared I going to be made redundant! Good luck with your studies!

@popgoesperfection it was great thank you, although I have forgotten how to navigate office politics and forgotten that my colleague spend just as long gossiping as they do working!
