I'd merrily been wearing them all winter with long tops and today I looked in the mirror and...........

Please advise. No abuse please but feel free to be brutally honest.

I mean the side view particularly so please look at both photos.

I think they're fine. You're slim, they're the shape they should be.

Did you paint the house while wearing them? Otherwise they fit you and are quite flattering. You have a great figure!

Thank you so much - I wasn't fishing, not in the slightest. I feel like I've got a really big tummy. But I'm well aware that our own perceptions of our bodies are often way out of whack.

I felt like the side of a house when I looked in the mirror. I'm late 40s so I suppose it's not that surprising that I don't look like an 18yo any more. Nor should I feel like I need to.

When I looked at the pics I thought ‘oh god it’s the bathing costume woman at it again‘. Seriously they look great. All I see in the side view is a nice pert bum!

Haha you made me laugh because I thought the same when I saw the photos, but I couldn't be arsed cleaning the mirror and taking them again .

I feel really embarrassed now. I genuinely wasn't trying to get compliments, just to get a serious idea of what I looked like. It's affirmations and self-esteem exercises for me I think. God our society can do a number on you can't it?

I don’t think they are very flattering. It’s absolutely not because you have a big tummy - you don’t - so don’t worry about that. It’s just very obvious that with your excellent legs & bum you could look better. I think you should move away from skinnies.

That's just what skinny jeans look like on a normal body OP, I think. I'm not a big fan of the appearance of skinny jeans in general these days but they do look totally fine and so does your figure. Don't bin them if you like them!

I agree though- whilst you have a brilliant figure, skinny jeans aren’t very flattering in general. Starting to wonder how they got so popular as now when i see them on someone I tend to think they look a bit odd.

Fine, as painting jeans. I wouldn't wear them outside the house but they won't frighten horses. Unless you want to be a stylista.
